Family Friendly Cabin
Please note the cabin comfortably sleeps 4 adults plus kiddos. If you would like to have more than 4 adults, please get prior approval before booking.
The Property
Situated on an acre of land backing up to the headwaters of the American River, enjoy exploring our meadow, forest and riverfront.
Highway 50 & Parking
Please note that the cabin is *on* Hwy 50 which does mean there is some highway noise. It also means we have exceptional road access in winter, and if you're coming from the Sacramento area, we are a shorter drive than the basin. Note that there is parking in the driveway for two vehicles but *no* garage access.
Sierra at Tahoe
We are on Echo Summit as opposed to being in the Lake Tahoe Basin. This means we are 1 mile from the entrance of the Sierra at Tahoe Ski Resort!
Echo Lakes
One mile away is Echo Lakes, which accessible in the summer, are some of the most beautiful alpine lakes in the region with a relatively easy hiking trail.

Kitchen - Living - Dining

Back Deck
From the living room, enter the very large deck that is up above the meadow behind, overlooking the headwaters of the American River. Here, you'll find the hot tub (year round) plus fire pit (also year round, but propane does not flow in too cold of weather) plus seasonal outdoor dining with BBQ grill and outdoor living room seating in the summer.
California King Bedroom
The primary bedroom features a Cal King bed with new Casper mattress in fall 2025. Large bathroom with two sinks, a soaking tub and shower with two showerheads. This room also features an office nook with a monitor for remote work.
Queen Bedroom
With direct access to the hot tub area, this bedroom also features a wall mural topo of our nearby wilderness. The mattress is also a new Casper mattress replaced in fall 2025. This room shares a bathroom with the bunk room.
Kids Bunk Room
Twin bunk beds and a closet full of toys and a pack 'n play make this room perfect for kiddos. This room shares a bathroom with the Queen room.
Laundry/Entry
Plenty of space for you to store your skis and hiking boots by the front door + a full laundry room stocked for your use.

Our Renovation
We purchased the cabin in 2016 and worked pretty much every weekend to fully renovate the interior. We then lived full time at the cabin for a few years (with the help of great friends!) before relocating and beginning our time as hosts. We absolutely love sharing the cabin and are so thankful that everyone treats it as they would their own home :)
