Villa Bragone is not in the top tourists spots, but you can get anywhere you want with a short drive. Excellent restaurant very nearby. The village of Trabia is very close where you will find a nice grocery store. Maria, the owner is wonderful and is always a quick text away if needed. There is a wonderful garden on the property with fresh fruit. Great lemons! For half the price of other properties in places like CefalĂč, this is our choice location. We took the short drive to CefalĂč, paid 6 Euros for all day parking and enjoyed the village and beach. You can pay more, but you wonât get more.

Excellent property and a welcoming home!
Entering the house, climb a short set of steps to the spacious office and work area. Shelves are filled with information on Sicily and Italy and a comfortable desk next to a power strip. A door off the office accesses an open air patio with several comfortable chairs, a quiet place to relax and read.
Through a large opening, the next room is the living room with a large TV and cable service, a couch and chairs. Passing through the living room, you reach a hallway connecting the entrances to three bedrooms, two bathrooms and the kitchen. Two bedrooms have large, comfortable beds, while the third has upper and lower bunk beds.
The kitchen is fully furnished and featured a container of freshly pressed delicious olive oil from the family's surrounding trees.
Outside the kitchen door is patio shaded by an ancient olive tree, an excellent place for morning coffee or afternoon drinks.
We arrived shortly after 1500 on a Sunday and Maria suggested we try the Bragone restaurant, a short drive (or walk) up the hill from the house. It was excellent! We ate there twice during our short stay.
Maria and Aldo came over the first morning to help arrange our sightseeing. All their suggestions were spot on! Sights visited on days trips included Palermo, Monreale, Eriche, Cefalu and Agrigento. Maria was available to help whenever we needed her, which was a blessing.
One afternoon Aldo went to the fish market and came back with clams, squid, shrimp and mussels, which he taught us how to combine with a special Sicilian caper for spaghetti that was just outrageously good.
We highly recommend this property and its gracious hosts when you are in this part of Sicily.
We really enjoyed staying in this house. The location is ideal for touring the local region. The house itself is full of character and charm, with unique features such as wooden blinds and ironwork. It was very well clean and well-maintained, and it was really airy and spacious. We were able to walk to the nearby restaurant with same name as the house, just up the hill, and that was excellent as well. There are beautiful views of the sea and the nearest beach (no sand-just stones) was a short walk away, although across a busy road. The owners were charming and helpful so I would recommend this house to anyone visiting this part of Sicily.
We chose the property because we didn't want to hire a car and we could get there from the airport using public transport. The description was very attractive and the villa lived up to our expectations. It was spacious and well appointed and the garden and patio were lovely.
The station a ten minute walk away meant we could easily get to Palermo and Termini and with a change at Termini also to Cefalu.Trabia centre was a 5 minute walk away, where the choice of shops for buying food was good, and there was a market on Mondays. The locals are very friendly and greeted us every time we passed.
Maria is incredibly welcoming and helpful. She pointed out the best shops for meat and fish. As we had no car, lifts were offered, into Termini for example. We sampled the families olives and pomegranates.
The choice of eating out in the evening in Trabia is limited but fortunately the local taverna up the lane from the villa proved to be very good and very friendly. With a car, obviously Termini offers a wider choice.
We wanted a quiet retreat to read and write and not particularly to do the tourist thing. We found the perfect space.
