Metro station is an easy walk (between several exit locations) and catching a taxi was a breeze with a hotel directly across the street. The main bedroom off on it's own was nice and large however there was only a shower and tub, no toilet. There are opening windows but not a view. The main powder room/toilet that needed to be shared with 2 of the bedrooms was pretty small and the sink extremely tiny. We enjoyed having a kitchen & a small standing only terrace that we were able to get a lovely draft from. The stay overall was lovely.
Lovely Experience for 5 Adults, 3 kids and 2 infants
The property was mostly as we expected. I would point out that the layout wasn't exactly clear. We had to adjust room plans when we arrived. The striped wall room off the living does not have a private bath per-say it's meant to be the common bathroom. The more modern room with the black four-post bed is off the entrance -almost a secret passage way that we had to hunt for. It's unusual but I find these kinds of things charming. The bathroom off that bedroom is beautifully updated and provides a sort of suite. Unfortunately, it wasn't plumbed for a toilet. The kids bedroom and patterned wall bedroom have a joining door and share the bathroom on that end of the unit which is also nicely updated. The furniture is a bit cheap but with the amount of traffic it seems resonable (I've managed vacation rentals and know first hand the abuse they take) for the space. The kitchen was nicely stocked and having both a washer and dryer (American's unfamiliar with Europe might be suprised how rare a dryer is) was much appreciated as this property was the last 5 days of a 20 day Euro trip. Management should provide instructions on how to use these appliances for longevity as they are not typical for those from USA. The dryer requires a manual dumping of the water reservoir. The property is a few hundred years old and this is the "feel" we were looking for. The manager was kind and very efficient and the access system was streamline! We loved the location with everything we wanted to see within resonable walking distance and the train station (with an entire shopping mall inside) directly across the street. We found the property to be absolutely lovely. The flooring is very antique- again, fine for us - but didn't appear as weathered in photos.
I've noticed in many reviews of European properties that people from the USA tend to complain about properties being listed on the first floor and feeling duped into climbing stairs. In Europe the 1st floor is the 2nd floor to Americans with ground level being 0. Not applicable to this unit which is 3 stories high but thankfully there is a small elevator/lift which we were able to send our luggage up in..... sure beat lugging all of our things up numerous flights of stairs as we'd grown accustomed. I have nothing but positive memories and only point out "negatives" to set resonable expectations and less positive reviews by people who don't know or understand Europe.
Thank for a great stay!
The apartment was dirty, only 2 bathrooms that are extremely small and horribly designed. The bedroom on the other side of the apartment had shower but no toilet seat. Extremely old, filthy, floors squeacky, nothing worked properly, showers leaked, coffee machine broken, furniture is horrible etc... the list can go on...
