The location was excellent to do all things Paris. Metro is a few steps away from your front door. Several local bistros have wonderful hours to accommodate all guests.
Positives - location is very convenient, just 1/2 block to Metro. Bathrooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean. There were two toilet + shower located next to each other, and a shower / sink in one of the bedrooms. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was fine. Two of the bedrooms have expansive windows looking out on the courtyard.
Rough edges - the apartment is part of an infill project inside a classic Parisian superblock, with construction ongoing above the apartment. Access is somewhat akward; you pass through the front door of an office complex, down the hall, and then to a walkway through the remaining courtyard to access the elevator.
Paris was very rainy while we were there, and we discovered the big glass ceiling in the main room leaks in several places, and has been doing so for some time. There was also an intermittent leak in one of the bedrooms. The apartment could get very damp from the leaking at times. The walkway through the courtyard had clogged drains, and so we had to walk through a 2-inch-deep 'lake' after significant rains.
The best thing about this apartment is the location. It is listed as being in the Marais, which isn't quite right, but also not a drawback. The apartment is in the 10th arr, which is an easy walk from the Marais, and also from Canal St. Martin. And it is a quick walk to several metro stops, and a few great cafes. This neighborhood is young and diverse and very vibrant. Whenever we walked out our door we were in a neighborhood that was almost all Parisians (not tourists) from many backgrounds and walks of life. The apartment itself fit our needs well. It was spacious (for a Paris apartment) and comfortably air conditioned (which was key because we were there during a hot summer). If you are looking for a classic charming Parisian apartment, this is not for you. It felt a little more like a hotel room. But if you want space and comfort and a great location, this is a great choice. And the management was super helpful. One weird thing about the apartment is that the one bathroom that is in a bedroom only has a sink and shower -- no toilet. But since there are two other bathrooms with toilets (and showers) that was not a big deal.
We knew the management was thoughtful and meticulous when we saw the Nespresso machine and pods.
The only thing I would improve upon is better instructions on the washing machine.
Stay in tbis place!!
