Casa Bencomo fuses contemporary architecture, designer furniture, and luxury interior design inspired by the modernist masters of the 20th century.

Situated in Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s bourgeois neighbourhood El Barrio de los Hoteles-Pino de Oro which is known for its eclectic 19th and 20th-century architecture and renowned urban park Parque Garcia Sanabria.

Constructed in 1930 and fully restored in 2018, this three-story luxury home rental townhouse blends indoor and outdoor living spaces and transmits a feeling of serenity with high-end design in harmony with the home’s original modernist architecture.

Casa Bencomo showcases designer furniture pieces by Arne Jacobsen, Pastoe, Mornernica and Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni.

The house

The elegance of the Casa Bencomo is defined by its balance of clean lines, natural light that pours through and the high-quality natural materials use to create its timeless beauty.

The luxury of the house is evident in every detail: from the Dornbracht taps to the original Tezzarro stone staircase with teak railing.

Original works of art, designer furniture and period pieces give this house an originality and elegance difficult to find elsewhere.

Ground floor

Step into Casa Bencomo and the first thing you will notice is the original modernist staircase that curves up all three stories of the home. The asymmetric teak wood curved bannister reinforces the elegant aesthetic of this 20th-century modernist luxury home rental. Sunlight floods the entrance from the solarium on the roof terrace.

Concrete flooring runs through the ground floor of the home contrasting with the stark white walls and high ceilings and original Terrazzo stone staircase.

Features original Cactus Coat Rack sculpture by Guido Drocco and Franco Mello for Gufram (c. 1972) and artwork by Oscar Latuag.

Living room and dining room

Through the glass panel French doors into the light-filled living and dining room with a low modular sofa by Spanish luxury furniture designer Sancal and curation of 60s and 70s vintage and modern designer furniture.

The large oval dining table longing to be used by a small group of friends or family to enjoy the intimate setting for dinner and drinks, well into the evening.

Swing open the patio doors and let the cool breeze from the garden flow into the house.

Kitchen

The custom-designed kitchen has a marble worktop and integrated premium induction hob, Miele dishwasher, SMEG oven and an eclectic collection of artisan and designer kitchenware from around the world to make cooking in the kitchen a real pleasure.

French doors lead from the kitchen to the garden.

Patio

Glass panel doors take you from the kitchen to the large patio and tropical garden, where you can dine alfresco with the sound of the wind rustling in the giant banana leaves.

Relax with an aperitif in the AA butterfly chairs by Airborne, soaking up the warm sun, and then cool your skin under an outdoor shower fountain.

There is a utility cupboard with a Miele washing machine and clothes dryer and an additional large fridge freezer.

Study

The study at the front of the house is ideal for remote working, with a desk, vintage chair, and printer.

First floor

Climb up the statement, light-filled staircase to the first floor of this luxury home rental where original tile flooring has been restored.

The modernist design runs through the house, maintaining the design principles of simplicity, ergonomics, and serenity.

The windows and balcony doors upstairs are adorned with white linen drapes to let the natural light flow in.

The bedrooms on the first floor are simple, and elegant, and exude an understated luxury interior design: designed to be kept clutter-free and to aid rest and relaxation.

Main bedroom

The main bedroom at the back of the house has a king-size bed (160 x 210 cm) with a 100% latex mattress and cotton linen. Featuring artwork by Isabel Muñoz.

A small private terrace is accessed through French doors with seating and views of the banana leaves from the patio below.

Dressing room

Large dressing room with wall-to-wall wardrobes to store your personal belongings and hang your clothes. The vintage Chinoiserie chair gives the dressing room an exotic feel and an original vintage Pastoe vanity shelving adds a pop of 1950s retro color.

Double bedroom

The second bedroom has a king-size bed (160 x 200 cm) with a latex mattress, vintage accessories, and access to the front balcony with a table and 3 chairs.

Twin bedroom

Twin bedroom with two single beds, vintage lamps and bedside tables and access to the front balcony.

Bathroom

Off-white tones, simple lines, Dornbracht TARA taps, a large walk-in shower, and shelves for storing your things. The clean and simplistic design of this bathroom evokes a feeling of calm and purity.

Second floor

Bathroom

The spacious master bathroom on the top floor of the home has a free-standing double sink with a marble top and a deep marble-topped bathtub with an overhead shower and Dornbracht TARA taps.

Rooftop solarium

The rooftop solarium features cacti and aloe vera plants, deck chairs for sunbathing, and a large concrete bathtub with hot and cold taps. Escape up here with a cold glass of local ListĂĄn Blanco wine and soak in the tub with the warm sun on your skin after a day exploring the city.

Check-in / check-out

Our check-in time starts at 4 pm and check-out is by 11 am. To make things more convenient for you, we will provide you with a code to the lockbox so you can retrieve the keys and check yourself at any time after 4 pm.

Online check-in before arrival

As per the current Vacation Rental Decree (Spanish law), we kindly ask all guests over the age of 18 to submit their ID before arrival. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Towels, linen and professional cleaning

We take pride in ensuring that Casa Bencomo is professionally cleaned to the highest standard before your arrival.

We provide high-quality white bed linen and towels, and we kindly ask that you use them with care. Please refrain from using them to wipe up spills or dirt, or to remove makeup. In the event of stained linen or towels, we reserve the right to charge a fee to replace them.

You will have one bath towel, one hand towel, and one beach towel per guest, as well as one hand towel per bathroom. If you require a change of towels or bed linen during your stay of 7 days or more, please let us know, and we'll be happy to arrange this for you.

Mid-stay cleaning

If you would like mid-stay cleaning, we offer this service at €15 an hour (minimum 3 hours). Please send us a message if you would like us to arrange this for you.

Pets

We accept small pets upon request. There's an extra charge of €59 per pet, per stay. Send us a message if you want to bring your pet.

Remote working

If you plan to work remotely during your stay, we offer a 22-inch monitor with an HDMI cable for rent at €30. Please send us a message to request this, and we'll arrange it for you.

The local area - Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Casa Bencomo is situated in one of the most privileged areas of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, El Barrio de los Hoteles-Pino de Oro.

Adored for its historical architecture, you can trace the work of architects such as Mariano Estanga, Manuel de Cåmara, Antonio Pintor Ocete, Domingo Pisaca, José Blasco, José Enrique Marrero Regalado and Miguel Martín-Fernåndez de la Torre.

Walk 50 meters down the road and you will arrive at the impressive Parque GarcĂ­a Sanabria, the largest urban park in the Canary Islands. The park staged the International Exhibition of Street Sculpture in 1973 and thirteen of the sculptures still adorn the park. Parque GarcĂ­a Sanabria was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in the Canary Islands in 2016. Enjoy a glass of Tenerife wine in Strasse Park bar and terrace, which is located in the middle of the park.

Casa Bencomo is in walking distance of many of Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s finest restaurants, including Restaurante Aborigen Cocina de ArchipiĂ©lago, Noi, EtĂ©reo by Pedro Nel, Kazan (Michelin 2020), Nielsen, Sagrario, Solana (Michelin 2020), Jaxana and El Aguarde Restaurante.

There is a lot to explore in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for history and art lovers.

TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes is worth a visit to admire the building itself. The design, by Swiss architects Herzog and Meuron along with Virgilio Gutiérrez from the Canary Islands, focuses on a series of diagonal elements so that the public space penetrates the building and converges in the courtyard. TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes displays exhibitions by local and international artists, there is an independent cinema that shows films on the weekend and a public art library with free WiFi and a study area.

We also recommend a visit to MUNA Museo de Naturaleza y ArqueologĂ­a, where you can learn about the history of Tenerife and its aboriginal Guanche people. We recommend lunch in the restaurant Mues.ca, el Gastro del MUNA.
