If you're looking for a cosy, unique experience, particularly as a solo traveller, this is a great choice. The rooms are small, but well designed for comfort and storage, so I didn't feel cramped or claustrophobic. Because of the design of the pods, noise does potentially carry, but the other guests were respectful of the house rules (wear your headphones!), and there are complimentary earplugs and an eye mask just in case. The shared bathrooms were kept clean, and felt sufficient for the number of guests, and the neighborhood offers easy access to the metro and numerous great dining and shopping options. I would happily stay here again on another solo trip.

This place is adorable, but it's certainly not for everyone. People with mobility issues or visual impairments may find it challenging. The rooms are *tiny*. They're so cute, but maneuvering around in them can be darn-near impossible. In a standard cabin, you can open a carryon-size clamshell suitcase on the floor and stand up against the door, but that's all. And the rooms are DARK. Holy cow. Even in broad daylight I struggled to see in my cabin. And use the ear plugs. Overall, the staff is lovely and helpful and the cleaning crew is exceptional: The bathrooms and showers are shared spaces, but you'd hardly know it with how clean they keep it. Location is outstanding. So many good spots to eat and shop within a 15-minutes walk. You'll be spoiled for choice.

Vorab muss ich sagen, dass mir erst in Nachhinein bewußt wurde, dass dies das teuerste Hotelzimmer war, das ich je gebucht habe! Wenn man Preis und 'WohnflĂ€che' betrachtet, kommt man in einem durchschnittlichen 4 Sterne Hotel gĂŒnstiger weg - dann sogar mit eigenem Bad ;) Aber gut, es ist Manhattan und man reist solo.. also je ein Stern fĂŒr die zentrale Lage, das schicke Interior Design und das sehr nette, hilfsbereite Personal. Die VerschlĂ€ge an sich sind leider sehr hellhörig.. und die Chancen, dass einer laut schnarcht oder seinen Wecker selbst nicht hört (ich hatte beides), ist bei ĂŒber 20 Einheiten pro Stockwerk leider recht hoch. Zudem, und das ist fĂŒr mich leider ein Ausschlußkriterium, sind die Betten ca. 180cm lang und so schmal, dass man auch nicht schrĂ€g liegen kann. FĂŒr diesen Preis erwarte ich ein besseres Erlebnis, als im DB Schlafwagen.

DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU NEED TO SLEEP AT NIGHT

During each of the 2 nights of my stay I was wakened at 4:30 am by loud music blasting through the hotel's central sound system, and when I staggered down the two steep flights of stairs (there are no elevators) to the Reception (yes, in my pajamas) and asked them to turn it off the people on duty just shrugged and said they couldn't do anything about it. But even if this hadn't happened, the walls between the tiny rooms are so thin I could hear the breathing of the people in the rooms next to me, as well as every little sound - the crinkling of candy wrappers, moving of suitcases (very hard to navigate in the rooms so there's a lot of pushing of suitcases under beds so one can step onto the floor, etc), and ringing of cel phones even though there is ban on cel phone use in the rooms "out of consideration for others" -- which is a JOKE when you consider that the hotel itself was blasting the music that woke me up. And so many other totally impractical features - no elevator, very steep stairs -- do NOT come with a heavy suitcase unless you're strong and have good balance -- shower facilities in the basement three flights down, rooms so dark (they are all windowless) that even when you can find space to open your suitcase you can only see into it with your phone torch on, no eating/drinking allowed apart from in a tiny room in the basement that has only 4 seats, and only one bench outside on the sidewalk that seats just 3...HOW DID THEY COME UP WITH THIS STUPID CONCEPT???!!!

The property itself is fine, but your experience really depends on who else is living nearby. There are no ceilings, so you can hear everything : people sleeping, talking, phone alarms, notifications, etc. The room door are also extremely loud after midnight, so you'll likely be woken up whenever someone goes to the restroom or leaves the building. I will avoid this area for peak season.

1st Rate Utilitarian Chic Accommodations

I like exploring new concept hotels in NYC in some of my favorite parts of the city-- in this case The Bowery. Now Now Noho is unique. A hip hostel style accommodation-- a cross between a train compartment and a small boat cabin. European and Japanese style and efficiency vibes. Stunningly executed design. The compartments are beautiful and comfortable. They are designed for single occupancy. The bathroom/shower area in the wing I stayed was super clean. It affords a high level of privacy. I certainly enjoyed the experience and hope to be back.

It was very cozy, but I got used to it. A lot more private than a hostel. World travelers would really like it. American tourists might find it to confining.

Excellent way to stay in east village of NYC as a single female traveler. Neighborhood is hip and safe and convenient. Accommodations are clean and quiet but really only for sleeping. No space to eat or hang out.
