Silver Lake Cabin w/ Own Lake near Cooperstown

Rent a large, beautiful lake house with its own lake and nature sanctuary. Brand new with 4 bedrooms (incl. loft), 2 full baths, kitchen, living room, handmade Amish woodwork. Sleeps 10 comfortably (14 w/air mattresses). Eco-friendly solar panels and geothermal HVAC, your own wildlife refuge and 1-mile path around Silver Lake in New Berlin. Includes a large yard, row boat, paddle board, kayaks, sports equipment, fire pit, basketball court, and more!

Silver Lake is a 12,000-year-old lake. It had a race track around it in the 1800s. (We found a half-dime from 1847 when we were putting in the nature walking path.) It was also a Native American gathering place because it's so close to the Unadilla River.

Guest Access:
We own the lake so renters can fish; most do catch-and-release but the lake has large and small mouth bass, blue gills, perch (you can catch, cook and eat) and beautiful birds to watch. There's plenty of turtles, frogs and other wildlife around the lake. Bald eagles have been seen often with Osprey and Red-tail Hawks as well. Very swimmable! Jump right off the dock.

Other Things to Note:
There is a rowboat (named the SS Chinchilla), oars, fishing poles and equipment you can use, along with inner tubes if you want to float around on the lake.

We love outdoor enthusiasts, but the cabin is not set up for hunting.

In addition to the basketball court, we have equipment to set up a volleyball net, horseshoes, badminton, and frisbees. If it rains, there are board games, cards, puzzles and lots of books on the shelf. There is a TV with a wifi-connected Blu-ray player that connects to Netflix and other streaming services (be sure to log out!), and a basic cable package.
