Avec seulement le bruit du ruisseau et nos cascades, la maison est joliment meublĂ©e et confortable. Draps Frette dans la chambre des maĂźtres ... trous de natation privĂ©s, corniches pour bronzer et pĂȘche Ă  la truite sur la propriĂ©tĂ©. Ours sitings pas rare. Ski Ă  seulement quelques minutes. Comprend un grand thĂ©Ăątre de loisirs sĂ©parĂ©e («homme des cavernes») avec des jeux d'arcade, une table de billard, flipper, jeu de flĂ©chettes, etc.

Holiday Dream House

My family had the pleasure of staying at this incredible location, and it exceeded all our expectations. The accuracy of the listing was spot on—no surprises, just pure delight. The pictures didn't do justice to the breathtaking location and the overall ambiance of the place. Everything was well-maintained and clean, ensuring a comfortable stay for my family. Let's talk about the location—it was a dream come true. The rental was nestled in Lake Hill, offering unparalleled access to both stunning natural landscapes and the vibrant town life of Woodstock. Whether you wanted to unwind amidst nature or explore the town, this spot had it all within reach. Privacy was another standout feature. Despite being conveniently located, it felt secluded and serene. The layout of the property allowed for peaceful moments and undisturbed relaxation, perfect for those seeking tranquility. What really made this rental special was its suitability for gatherings. The spacious layout and thoughtful amenities made it an ideal place to host friends or family. October stay

Very nice house and property. We especially liked the patio next to the stream. Close to town if you need something but yet far enough away to be secluded. Kitchen is very well stocked with pretty much every cooking utensil and appliance. October is a great time to visit for fall colors and lots of hiking options. Ruth was very accommodating and got back to us quickly.

Lake Hill cottage

Beautiful property and cottage, very secluded and quiet. We all loved the wild life in the woods around the property( there was an abundance of different animals). Hard to pick a favorite part of the cottage from the man cave to the fire pit area and creek in the back. Our dog was in absolute heaven running around the woods as well, happiest we've ever seen him on vacation.

Great house ion a beautiful location

A wonderfully warm and cozy house with all the amenities you need for a few days away in Upstate New York. Ruth was helpful and gracious. So lovely with the river in the back- I imagine it is even better in the summer months.

All the good things wrapped up in one!

We had a fabulous time staying at this log home! The property is so incredibly private & beautiful! Inside & out the "cabin" is breathtaking - the perfect blend of luxuries & rustic charm! It had everything we needed, from the necessities of a well-stocked home to the special touches of bathrobes & complimentary wine. The kitchen was wonderful, and we cooked nearly all of our meals there, as it was complete with all appliances, pots, utensils, etc. The bedrooms were all absolutely lovely, and the main room was perfect for enjoying winter days and evenings with beautiful views of the wooded property all around. There was plenty to do, rain or shine, between the incredible "man cave", the party / card games, the plentiful hiking & rail trails in the area, and the extremely charming town of Woodstock. The next time we go we hope to use the fabulous fire pit patio area that looks out onto the river (quite a beautiful one at that, with spectacular rocks). Our host was so very accomodating, easy-going, responsive & generous! We got so much out of this stay - it was peaceful, fun, cozy & active. Truly, truly beautiful!

Special Property

We rented this beautiful cabin for a week with our 3 year old daughter! It was absolutely amazing. The cabin was cozy and very private. We spent a lot of time in the private swimming hole right on the property and grilling outside next to the river. We used the amazing garden (kale, corn, cucumbers, tomatoes) to make fresh salads every night. The cabin is in a great location, only 10 min from downtown Woodstock. We can’t wait to come back another time! Truly a special property

Peaceful, Serene Vacation Spot

My family of five (two adults and three kids ages 6, 9, and 10), stayed in this beautiful log house in August 2021. I can't say enough good things about the house, the property, and the owner, Ruth, who was attentive and prompt to respond to any and every message and request. The pictures on VRBO don't do the house justice--its a lovely log house on nearly 7 acres of rolling lawns, woods, gardens, and the part we enjoyed best: a bubbling, crystal clear creek running along the back of the house. We all enjoyed wading in the creek all week. My kids spent hours catching minnows and our dog enjoyed swimming in the deceptively deep areas along the creek. The beds were comfortable, the water pressure in both showers was perfect, and the game shed down the path from the house was awesome. We played pool, Pac-Man, darts, and pinball all week. My kids were in heaven. We can't say enough good things about this rental and can't wait to return again sometime soon.

Perfect summer escape

We spent a week with our two teenage boys at Ruth’s beautiful property and could not have had a better time. Lots of space to spread out, plenty of outdoor activities and the man-cave for late night billiards and pinball. A well stocked kitchen, nice grill set-up and delicious local produce to make memorable evening meals. I was constantly amazed by the quiet and the privacy. The creek was a big draw, as well as exploring in the woods and playing catch in the front yard. The house is charming and comfortable and the fire pit was a bonus at the end of the day. Highly recommend Nancy’s in Bearsville for ice cream. Could not have asked for a more relaxing Catskills getaway.

Absolutely wonderful visit

We had an absolutely fabulous time at Ruth's family home in Lake Hill. The setting is serene and secluded: the house sits next to a creek which was full from all the recent rain so we fell asleep and woke up to the sound of the rushing water. The house is comfortable, spacious, and fully stocked with everything you may need (and more). We were working remotely and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The garden is beautiful: the lavender, bee-balm and daisies were in full bloom and Ruth offered us access to her vegetable garden. The man-cave was a roaring success with my husband and 14 year old who played pinball non stop and we all played evening games of pool. Ruth was friendly, generous and very easy to communicate with. This will definitely be a repeat destination for our family.

Solitude in the woods

The property is secluded in the woods—no people to be seen! It's right on a stream, and the sound of running water outside is so soothing. The house is cozy and the wood-burning stove provided warmth in the evenings.

Wonderful stay!

My husband, two kids and I really enjoyed our stay. The house was absolutely spotless. My family loved hanging out in the “mancave” on a rainy day. And the property is absolutely beautiful. Ruth was very responsive to SMG questions or concerns we had. We would definitely love to stay again and highly recommend this place to others.

We had 7 blissful days holed away during the pandemic is this charming cottage. Surrounded by trees and water we were able to decompress from pandemic and political stresses. the owner is so helpful and the space is not only tranquil but perfect for family members of all ages.

Great hideaway spot!

We went in the early winter, which was a fun way to get away from folks. On clear nights, could see a ton of stars too. Lovely stream in the back to wake up to and plenty of property to walk around. The house is in great condition with lots of amenities in equally great shape. All around great experience!

Thanksgiving getaway

Cooking Thanksgiving dinner together was a treat in this kitchen- 2 ovens and lots of space. The house was so comfortable for the 4 of us , we arranged to stay an extra night! The firepit area, the creek and overall scenery was a real bonus. The owner is super nice and very easy to reach.

Perfect October Getaway

Had a lovely 6-day holiday at the Lake Hill home. Property is gorgeous, completely quiet and private, yet close enough to town that we could have pizza delivered. House was well equipped and very comfortable. Only disappointment was that the beautiful fireplace was not in working order as the weather was cold and rainy. Hopefully the owner will have that fixed for the rest of the fall and winter seasons.

Fall Stay

The pictures of the grounds for this property were accurate- it is a lovely setting. We were able to let our dog off leash and she loved exploring the stream which is so close you can hear it. The leaves were just turning and it was beautiful. The house itself was lovely inside and warm. It’s a little older in terms of the bathroom and appliances but generally well cared for. We thought the man cave was a bit of a bust. The pool table was missing the 14 ball, the pinball machine did not work and one of the 2 big overhead lights was out (Ruth was trying to get it fixed.) The only other 2 issues we had was the master bed was a bit too soft for us and concave so my husband and I ended up smooshed together. Also, there’s no trash collection so we had to take our garbage to the dump 15 min away and had to pay $6/bag. Finally, there’s no cell coverage.

Fantastic, relaxing home away from home

We had the exact experience we were hoping for!!! The location was quiet and beautiful with only a short drive to Woodstock for anything we needed. Kids and adults loved playing in the creek and didn’t want to leave. The weather was perfect for our stay and gave us the most incredible stargazing opportunities. We can’t wait to return.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Lake Hill House. From enjoying the beautiful private swimming hole to nightly fires under the stars to exploring nearby downtown Woodstock.. it was the perfect, much-needed getaway. Great setting for a family getaway

Exactly as described, and both the creek and the "man cave" were better than expected. In the hot covid summer of 2020, when it's been hard to find places to safely swim, the mini swimming holes on the property were a perfect place to get wet and hang out. The house was stocked amazingly well with everything you could need. The only tiny improvement we -- a family of readers -- would have made is more lighting since the house is dark. But otherwise? Excellent.

Best VRBO experience yet

This property is a haven for anyone looking to get out of the city and reconnect with nature. Nestled in the woods near a gorgeous stream, guests will have little reason to leave the premises. The fact that the house is gorgeous, and that there is a separate house-sized "man-cave" with a pool table, bar, arcade games and an entertainment system doesn't hurt either! We love the town of Woodstock, but this property was so amazing we barely left. Can't recommend highly enough! The owner is so nice and communicative. We will definitely try to come back if we can!
