Our First floor luxury apartment in an Art Nouveaux house in Cavalaire Sur- Mer near St Tropez . The house has a grand marble staircase with approx 20 steps to the 1st floor. Veranda with sea view and large shared swimming pool. Magnificent high ceilings, French windows in all rooms and mountain views from bedrooms. Private drive, electric gates and parking spaces .We have furnished and equipped our spacious apartment to a high standard to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Sleeps 4 . with a well equipped kitchen, dining area for six and lounge and bathroom and separate toilet .Two double bedrooms (one with twin beds) , the other with a double bed Wi-Fi is installed -so bring your mobiles and laptops.
Not suitable for children under age of 5 years because of the danger of the balcony
No pets allowed




Our apartment is a perfect base for a great holiday in Cavalaire sur Mer with the balcony which overlooks the large swimming pool and the sea - a perfect place to relax and to enjoy a glass of rose after a day at the beach .

Change over day is a sunday- so bookings go from Sunday to Sunday




History of the house

The house was originally owned by Baron Haussmann as his country residence. The house was originally called “Villa Fantaisie” The house was built in 1904. He was a famous architect in Paris. He designed the Grand Boulevards in Paris and was also the Minister of Finance.

Cavalaire Sur Mer

Cavalaire sur Mer is situated on a stretch of the Mediterranean coast that receives more sunshine than anywhere in France, more than 3,000 hours a year! The area has tall dark pines, oaks and eucalyptus trees.

Only 10-15 minutes’ walk to the town with interesting shops, plenty of excellent restaurants in the marina and in town , 4 km of white sandy beaches and a large marina. There is a secluded sandy beach (Bonporteau), which is 15 minute walk from our apartment.

Ideal for beach holidays, water sports, diving, deep fishing walking, cycling, tennis, golf, and horse riding. There is an excellent scenic cycle route through the Corniche des Maures nearby – heading west along the coast out of Cavalaire. It follows the old railway line so is mostly flat and nearly all off road – ideal for families. and lovely coastal walks along the famous Corniche des Maures just 15 minutes’ walk from our apartment.-or for further a field ( see the books and maps in the apartment) Golf at St Raphaels and Grimaud.

Travel to Cavalaire sur Mer

It is just 45 minutes’ drive from the airport in Hyeres (40km) and less than 2 hours from Nice (70 km) and from Marseille. Nearest railway station is either St Raphael (approx 30 kms) or Toulon ( approx 60 km) Trains from London St Pancreas International (Eurostar & TGV) goes direct to Marseille or via Paris or Lille either to Toulon , Marseille or to St Raphael. There is a direct bus to Cavalaire from Toulon ( Route St Tropez).

The Gulf de St. Tropez and the Iles d'Or

Several larger, well-known beach resorts are close-by and can be reached easily by local bus. These include St Tropez (17km), Ste Maxime (21km) and Le Lavandou (20km). The recently-developed marina towns of Port-Grimaud (15km) and Cogolin (16km) are now major tourist destinations. Catch the ferry from Cavalaire to visit the famous 'Ăźles d'Or': the Levant islands, Porquerolles and Port Cros. These small islands are protected National Parks which have something for everyone: sandy beaches, signed paths and trails, extraordinarily clear waters with a signposted underwater 'nature' trail and ancient forts.

The Var region

Is famous for its vineyards and many within easy reach of Cavalaire are open to visitors. Take note of those that you would like to visit as you pass them on the roads into Cavalaire! Exploring inland, the hills, valleys, vineyards and pine forests of the Alpes de Haute Provence provides varied and fascinating destinations. Visiting the old villages perched high in the mountains are a great way to cool down on a summer evening. For example Grimaud or Gassin.

Great Location

We had an excellent stay at this great location. We enjoyed it very much, there is nothing missing, all is available. The pool is great, the flat is great in such a beautiful building. Also the communication, information, etc. is really great. Each question is answered within shortest time. Overall I can highly recommend this property.

Excellent location,amazing balcony views

We had a lovely holiday at this property. The owner Jane was very helpful and the apartment was equipped with everything you could need. The nearest beach is within walking distance,but we chose to visit a quieter one just 10 minutes drive away. Jane even provides beach chairs and pool toys. The pool was rarely busy although it is shared by about 10 apartments. We also had fun at Aqualand water park and visiting St Tropez. The only thing missing was a bigger freezer to fit all the ice cream in ,for all those relaxing afternoons on the balcony gazing at the beautiful sea view.

wonderful family holiday home

We had a wonderful time at your house and in wonderful surroundings. We loved the area so much and now want to buy somewhere ourselves (if we can get our act together!) The appartment was lovely- everything you could want . The appt was very clean and well maintained and the instructions and details of the property were very helpful and were true. The DVD's were a real bonus for the children when parents were making supper. The view from the balcony was amazing. Alex the 2 year old loved the pool and we all swam everyday as well as going to the sandy beach. We could not complain about anything. Thank you so much for everything-we would definately recommend to other families with children

Back to the Balcony

Marilyn and Alec Wales It was after midnight when we arrived at Castel Haussmann having driven from Nice airport, so it to was with great delight that we opened the shutters the following morning to see the wonderful view over the hills, town and sea. Stepping out onto the balcony overlooking the pool and surrounded by Oleanda trees we soon realised that this was going to be the perfect apartment for total relaxation for the next 2 weeks. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and it really is beautiful. We spent many hours on the balcony eating, drinking, listening to the CD`s provided and reading from the wide selection of books. Although we enjoyed visiting places of interest such as St Tropez, Frejus, Ramatuelle and Abbeye de Thoronet it was a joy to leave the car and walk the short distance to the town, marina and beach. June was a lovely month to visit, no crowds, not too hot and the pool almost to ourselves. Castel Huassmann is without doubt an ideal apartment and we can`t wait to return.

Séjour trÚs relaxant dans un appartement parfaitement équipé

La propriĂ©taire est aux petits soins pour ses hĂŽtes et trĂšs attentionnĂ©e. Elle met Ă  leur disposition un appartement oĂč il ne manque rien: guides touristiques, livres de cuisine, jeux de sociĂ©tĂ©, ustensiles de cuisine, ... On se sent comme chez soi dans cet appartement qui a vraiment une Ăąme et du style et qui est situĂ© dans un environnement calme et verdoyant. Nous avons apprĂ©ciĂ© de trouver des cartes IGN de toute la rĂ©gion qui nous permis de faire de belles ballades notamment sur le sentier du littoral. La terrasse est trĂšs agrĂ©able et permet de profiter de la vue sur la piscine et sur la mer au loin. DĂ©but avril, le temps Ă©tait un peu trop frais que pour plonger dans la piscine mais en Ă©tĂ© on doit avoir envie d'y passer beaucoup de temps. En bref, un appartement Ă  recommender pour qui veut passer des vacances relaxantes et sans souci.

Wunderschönes Haus an der Cote dŽAzur

Ein altes Haus mit Gesicht, renoviert, mit gepflegtem Pool. Die Wohnung im 1. Stock ist mit zwei Schlafzimmern, Wohn-Eßzimmer, KĂŒche (Mikrowelle, GeschirrspĂŒler, Backofen), Bad (Duschwanne, Waschmaschine) und extra WC-Raum praktisch und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es gibt FensterlĂ€den gegen Hitze und Helligkeit (wir konnten gut schlafen) sowie in den RĂ€umen einzelne Ventilator-GerĂ€te. Die Besitzerin hat alles aufÂŽs Beste organisiert und beschriftet, so dass man sich sofort zurecht findet. Der Pool wird auch von anderen Nachbarn genutzt, was aber ĂŒberhaupt kein Nachteil ist. Zu Fuß lĂ€uft man ca. 10 Minuten in den Ort und zum Hafen. Von Calvalaire aus kann man gute AusflĂŒge machen- mit dem Auto (in der Saison ist die KĂŒstenstraße allerdings oft verstopft), mit dem Boot (verschiedene Anbieter) oder mit dem Bus. Strandbusse fahren wĂ€hrend der Saison sogar kostenlos.

Beautifully situated appartement with stunning views and gorgeous pool

The apartment is a home from home and more. It is equipped with everything you could possibly possibly need for your holiday. Jane, the owner, provides so much helpful information about the apartment and all the local amenities prior to your stay. She also provides 'treats' to welcome you, a really kind and personal touch we thought. The apartment is very spacious with lots of period features and an interesting history. There is a beautiful staircase up to the apartment from the entrance hall. I would suggest that because it is on the first floor, it may not be suitable for a person who has mobility difficulties. However as it is on the first floor, the views are fabulous from the large balcony where we had breakfast and then a glass of wine in the evening as the sun set....wish we were there now!

Amazing Balcony Views

We had a relaxing pool/beach and walking holiday and stayed in this lovely well equipped apartment. The apt was very clean we arrived with sparkling wine and nibbles and some milk for tea or coffee. The apt is in a quiet location but is within 10 mins walk to the town and beaches. There is a large swimming pool which we used every day. We hired a car, but there are lots of buses which go to many places including St Tropez, which we went for the market and for lunch. We always came back to the balcony though for dinner and for a glass of cold rose in the evening. The supermarket -Carrefour- sells everything you would need and the bread and pasty shops sell lovely cakes and pastries as well as the baguette. Although we did go out for Moules and frites, which are excellent here. The owner Jane answered all my questions and was extremely helpful. We will definitely come next year and would recommend the apt to anybody- families or couples or groups of friends

V.comfy apartment in notable building & setting

With straightforward access from Nice airport our four UK based adults had a wonderful stay enjoying the crisp blue skies of late February. Starting our days with breakfast on the balcony overlooking the swimming pool to cocktails in the same spot as the sun started to set. In the meantime our days included walks along the coast and inland hills enjoying the South of France's ambience, cuisine and hospitality!

Fantastic Apartment; Cavalaire-sur-Mer

This was our second stay at the apartment having gone there, as a family, for a week last summer. We had a fantastic time last year and an equally wonderful week this summer. The apartment is a real home-from-home with everything provided and catered for. We had a super trip to St Tropez via ferry from Port Grimaud. We went there on the bus, which was incredibly good value for four of us, and the air conditioning in the bus was a great help. We all loved sitting the balcony for our meals, particularly in the evenings, and of course the swimming pool was a great hit again; not crowded at all. Once again the owner, Dr Jane Pryer, gave us such helpful advice before we travelled and the apartment was so clean and welcoming when we arrived with sparking wine, nibbles and chocolate provided to help us feel settled in! This apartment has given us all wonderful memories of a relaxing time in a beautiful part of Southern France, and will help sustain us through our impending British autumn and winter! Amazing

Our week at Castel Haussmann was just perfect. The appartment is located a few minutes walking distance from the town center and from very nice beaches. The appartment is spacious and the balcony big enough so that we could fit 6 persons and enjoy the lovely sea view. Kids loved the pool. This is a fantastic appartment in a private residence, very well equipped. Contact with the owner Jane has always been nice and she is very helpful with any question or request. This is the third time we've been enjoying Jane's appartment and Cavalaire and we are looking forward to returning!

Great place for any family

This is a great place for any type of family. The balcony you can practically live on, which we did. It overlooks the pool and sea which is very nice. Our small kids loved the pool and had a great time playing there with the other kids. A tip if you don't like the crowded beaches in town.. Use your car to go to the roundabout towards La Croix Valmer ( the roundabout where the Spar is), take the first right there and ride up the hill on Boulevard du Littoral. Park just before the corner near the top and walk the steps in between the houses down to the beach. You will be on a nice less crowded beach overlooking the bay from the other side.. The house itself is great, all you want or need is taken care of. It is the best place overall we stayed in next to a really nice house on the Amalfi coast in Praiano, Italy. Wifi works well which is a big plus for me. The fans are handy. The kitchen is well equipped. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfy. You can stay here and enjoy your surroundings well! Contact with Jane (the owner) has always been really nice and she will help you with any request or question that you might have. We will return, when we don't know yet because we like to move around a lot. But if we go back to this area, it will definitely be here!

Paradise on earth

This is the 4th time we have visited Castel Haussmann, although our first visit for a few years as our children have now flown the nest! The balcony has fabulous views of the sea and overlooks the beautiful pool. It is so relaxing and the owner Jane has thought of everything to make your stay complete! My only disappointment is it has become so popular that it can be difficult to book a slot.......so book early!

A wonderful place to stay

We had a lovely time staying here , the apartment is very spacious with lovely big rooms. We spent a lot of time on the balcony which has a wonderful sea view and overlooks the pool. It's only a 5 minute walk (max) into the town centre and beach - we had a great time and will definitely go again.

sehr schöne großzĂŒgige Wohnung in tollem Haus

- sehr schöne Wohnung mit sehr gut ausgestatteter KĂŒche - tolle Lage - 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß in die Innenstadt und zum Strand - vom Bakon sehr schöner Blick auf Cavalaire und das Meer - toller großer Pool wird genutzt von mehreren Wohnungen, dadurch auch Spielkameraden fĂŒr die Kids - perfekt zum relaxen fĂŒr Erwachsene und Kinder Außerdem: supernette Betreuung durch den Vermieter

A superb apartment for a very enjoyable holiday.

The moment we climbed the stylish staircase and entered the apartment for the first time we fell in love with it. When we entered the large dining/lounge area with its high ceilings and chateau style windows and opening on to the balcony we realised why people keep coming back(visitors book). The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything from the essential wifi/broadband to dvds, guides and even a needle and thread when I needed one. We could easily have spent our entire holiday relaxing on the balcony and in the picturesque pool area below. A short walk downhill brings you into Cavalaire with its 4km beach. The beach is gently sloping providing safe swimming and had lifeguards stationed along it while we were there. The attractive Marina provided a pleasant backdrop to the many restaurants. A main course and carafe of wine provided a very reasonably priced meal, We especially liked “La Pizzaiolle” and it seemed to be a favourite with the locals too. As with all self catering apartments it is worth noting that there were ample small stores and a larger “Carrefour” at the other end of the main street catering for all the supplies we needed. The local bus service, 3€ for each journey, is an excellent way to discover the area. Our favourite was Grimaud, a hill top village with the remains of a Templar castle at the top and lovely restaurants to be found in the old streets. Saint Tropez needs no explanation and provided plenty of opportunities for photos. A boat trip around the bay, past the super yachts, the houses of the rich and famous and views of Saint Tropez was well worth the 10€. La Lavandou was another beautiful resort, yet again oozing French charm and with palm trees on the beach. Two bus journeys took us to the perched village of Gassin, with breathtaking views which you can enjoy while dining at one of the restaurants. Our final trip was to Port Grimaud, built like a mini Venice with bridges and waterside cafes. From here we took a water taxi across the bay to SaintTropez for a second look before returning on the bus. All the practical info for the holiday, location of shops, bus routes and even flights were all provided by Jane and when we had a problem printing boarding passes Jane responded quickly by email and phone to advise us. All in all, a fantastic apartment, in a beautiful setting, with plenty of places to visit. I unreservedly recommend this apartment and we also look forward to returning.

First Class Apartment

This is a very well equipped apartment. It's owners have thought hard to ensure that your every need is catered for.The pool is excellent and whilst we were there it was used very little by the other residents. It's location is away from the noise of the town, whilst being near enough to enable you to easily walk into Cavalaire for dinner , although the walk is slightly uphill on the way back.Bearing in mind that some 'rentals' are sparsely equipped , with the owners overly-focused on maximising profit , this apartment is by far the best-value we have ever rented.Well done to Jane , who cares greatly that you fully enjoy the home , that she and her husband are proud to share with you.
