The host largely ignored our texts and requests. He never came to fix the things that he said would be sorted. The house was generally in a poor state of neglect, fridge door didn't close, kitchen kick board falling off, cooker inadequate for large group. The dishwasher stopped closing at one point and my brother fixed it after borrowing tools from a neighbour. The host just said it was working before. Pool was toxic and not maintained. My great nephew was sick after swallowing the water. We stopped using it when the water started getting green and cloudy. No curtains in main bedroom or bathroom . One bathroom really dingy and pokey, painted dark red with a dim light bulb, no window and supposed to serve 4 bedrooms with 4 double beds and 3 single bed spaces. The other 2 bathrooms supposed to serve 9 double beds and 2 single beds. One bedroom is a walkthrough to get to the bathroom. Another bedroom is a walk through to get to another bedroom. 2 double bedrooms are adjoining whether you want them to or not with a hole in the wall not a door you can close. If the house had some essential repairs carried out and more care, it could be advertised as a teenage youth hostel, but not a family home. It is not really safe for young children with trip hazards etc. It is in a nice location with lots to do in the area and close to Caen.
This is a beautiful home in a beautiful village but it is NOT an alternative for 42 people (or even half as many). There is one small fridge and one small freezer plus a larger fridge freezer. There was only one small dishwasher which was HOPELESS for our group of 34. In addition the sink leaked constantly (when it wasnât blocked). There is one ordinary sized oven without oven trays and one ordinary hob. We had good weather nearly every evening so fortunately we barbecued. We had no car, so shopping was very tricky! One of the bedrooms (double) is actually a corridor meaning that everyone on the first floor has to walk through it to use the bathroom. Two more of the bedrooms are only separated by a curtain, while one of the doubles can only be reached through another room. There are woefully few bathrooms and toilets for so many people. The sauna is not connected to any form of heat. There is no training room. This house (and the area outside) is NOT disabled friendly. But it is pretty and the garden is nice. Good for fit and healthy groups of up to 25 maybe, spread over what realistically is 7 bedrooms NOT the 12 advertised
Bradley is a great host and very chill. We would love to go back again. With a large group the lack of bathrooms is difficult but if you can manage you will have a great time!
Bradley has a unique place for larger groups to enjoy the French Normandy farm countryside. It had everything you need in the kitchen and most amenities. Bradley is still working out few little things with the property, but overall very place to enjoy peace and quiet with a group or smaller.
