Villa Grandi — three villas on one walled estate, for 16 guests in Otrobanda

Three villas within one walled estate, in the heart of Otrobanda — the UNESCO centre of Willemstad. Eight en-suite bedrooms around a tropical courtyard with a saltwater pool, for up to sixteen guests — with room alongside for three very small guests (two travel cots up to three years, and a co-sleeper). Together where you want, on your own when you seek it. The city begins beyond the gate. Being together, apart.

The layout
Stadsvilla, the restored monumental villa at the front, has four bedrooms. Villa Awa and Villa Blenchi sit on the courtyard, each with two bedrooms, their own kitchen and a shaded terrace. Every bedroom has its own bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, connected to the room through an open passage — no dividing door, so the air conditioning cools the bathroom too. Seven steps lead from the parking area up to the grounds, with two at the Stadsvilla entrance; inside, everything is on one level. Grandparents slip away to their own terrace, teenagers find their own corner, and everyone gathers again in the courtyard.

The estate
Historic walls and an automatic gate enclose the grounds. Inside are the saltwater pool, sun loungers, a covered seating area with a television, and the carport for four cars. Dining tables are set around the grounds; in the Stadsvilla stands a large wooden table seating twelve, and separate tables can be brought together for the whole group. No spaces shared with others: the estate is yours alone, with no staff on the grounds — and our local team on call whenever you need them.

Cooking together, eating together
Three fully equipped kitchens. The Stadsvilla kitchen is set up to cook for the whole group of up to sixteen; the kitchens in Villa Awa and Villa Blenchi are equally well equipped, intended for the guests staying in that villa. The large wooden table in the Stadsvilla seats twelve; separate tables around the grounds you bring together for the whole group. The pool is a few steps away for a swim after dinner. A private chef at the house we arrange on request.

Otrobanda and the island
Cafés, restaurants, murals and the Queen Emma Bridge within walking distance; supermarket and pharmacy a few minutes' drive away. For the beaches — the west coast, Mambo Beach, Jan Thiel — a rental car is useful; within the gate you park in the shade. The city on foot, the island by car.

Our local team welcomes you on arrival and shows you around; checking in yourself is possible if you prefer. We are reachable day and night through the platform. All contact details and practical information reach you beforehand in the arrival information.

Good to know
Electricity is billed separately: €0.50 per kWh, based on the meter readings at arrival and departure, settled via the deposit — a temporary hold on your credit card; nothing is transferred and nothing is charged. Average use: around 10 kWh per bedroom per night, with the air conditioning at 25°C for eight hours. Our tip: use the air conditioning mainly at night, with doors and windows closed — during the day the trade wind does the work.

All sockets are 220V; in each bedroom there is an adapter for American plugs. Towels and linens are ready. A grocery package on arrival we arrange on request. Events — retreats, workshops, dinners — are welcome when arranged in advance. What is billed separately is noted above; beyond that there are no costs afterwards.
