If you're interested in mediaeval architecture and art galleries, check out the adjacent Tudor town of Shrewsbury. Charles Darwin was born in this town, and a statue of him stands outside the public library. The National Trust's Attingham Park, a magnificent hall and deer park with a stunning walled garden just outside the town, is a must-see for anybody visiting. In addition, Wroxeter Roman City, which was featured on Channel 4 show 'Rome Wasn't Built in a Day,' is an excellent place to visit if you're interested in local history. Walking, fishing, and other outdoor activities are all readily available in Shropshire. It's hard to find another destination like Hawkstone Historic Park & Follies, which provides visitors with hours of enjoyment and thrill while affording panoramic views of Shropshire and beyond.
