Located in the North York Moors National Park, Elm Cottage is surrounded by natural beauty, with walking trails—including one passing right by the cottage—providing opportunities to explore the rolling hills and wildlife, where rabbits, deer, and pheasants roam freely.

Inside, Elm Cottage is beautifully presented, with every detail carefully considered to ensure a memorable and comfortable stay. The ground floor features an open-plan living area, complete with a well-equipped kitchen that includes a breakfast bar, as well as a dining table where you can all enjoy meals together. The lounge area is cosy, with a sofa and armchair placed by the large glass doors that open out onto the lawned garden, offering peaceful views of the countryside. The garden stretches down to a pond and has a picnic bench where you can relax and soak up the sunshine. Upstairs, there are two beautifully furnished bedrooms. One is a double, and the other is a twin, both designed to offer a restful night’s sleep. The family bathroom is also located on this floor, featuring a shower over the bath.

Elm Cottage is one of four sandstone barn conversions in The Granary Cottages, positioned beside the owner’s farmhouse, offering a serene countryside escape with all the convenience of being near the coast. Just a short drive away, Whitby offers a range of attractions, including the famous Whitby Abbey, the 199 steps, and the atmospheric cobbled streets of the old town. Nearby, the charming coastal villages of Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick Bay, and Robin Hood’s Bay provide stunning beaches, historic streets, and breathtaking coastal views. Each destination offers its unique character, making Elm Cottage the perfect base for exploring both the coast and the countryside.
