Cozy Cabin near Tippy Dam -Pet Friendly by Janix Escapes
Cozy cabins on a small resort. Close to river adventures, National Forest, ski resorts, and Lake Michigan. If you're planning to fish the river, mountain bike the trails, snowmobile, down hill ski, kayak the river or relax at the beach, we have the place to stay in the middle of it all.
The cabin was nice. The cleaning crew did a good job. It smelled clean and was well put together. The cons for not getting a 5 star rating: 1.) Check in listed as 3pm, we showed up at 3:15. Code for door didn't work and the cleaning crew was still working. Caused an hour delay in check. No communication was given about delayed check in. 2.) There is a mouse problem and saw no warning about it. My fresh fruit on the kitchen counter top got eaten and saw mouse poop on the kitchen counter over night. It also knocked over something trying to get into a food bag and woke me up at night. I'm a camper, i get we're in nature, but for the priced paid it wasn't expected.
The cabin itself was very nice, however is more suited to watching TV than internet surfing. Nice comfy loveseat, small round table/desk.
Also, thought the cabin was further off the road, but that's always a chance taken.
Also, having the side entrance unlockable by code would be nice, but that's a quibble.
Very quaint and cozy cabin. Very clean. Easy to find (it sits right off Caberfae Hwy). Easy access and exactly as pictured on the site. The shower has good water pressure. Quiet area near hiking.
Inside was nice dishes and counter had a greasy film on them. Outside had to take a grill from another cabin. Lots of Trash on the grounds, chairs were in rough shape
The cabin overall was a cute little place.
Had no issues with any one on site. The stove top was dirty (crumbs) & there were dead bugs in the window seals. Unfortunately, there was false advertisement on the listing. It says air conditioned, sadly it was not. There was no pre warning and resident did not reach out to Inform us either. Asked for a partial refund due to the false advertisement and they never contacted me back.
This was a wonderful little getaway location close to hiking trails. Check in was a little rocky (my door code didn't work) but we managed to get a hold of the host and it was resolved quickly.
Adorable little cozy cabin!
Would have loved to see an electric insert for the fireplace or flame less candles.
Would have made it even more cozy!
Very romantic weekend with the love of my life!
Definitely worth the drive from Spring Lake!
Local restaurants/bars are great too!
The property was quiet and clean with only one other guest in a cabin and only 25 minutes to all the Manistee attractions and the lake. VRBO email had one set of wifi instructions, the box for the router near the TV had another set of wifi instructions, and the binder (which I didnt immediately look at) had a third. The property owner responded immediately to my request after we tried the first two sets of info, which is all I can ask for, but offering consistent information is important.
Had a three night stay and there was a light knock or tap at the door at or around 10pm, well after dark the first two nights. On the third night, I went to test the door lock and opened the door and an individual was standing there and my girlfriend screamed so loud twice that the individual ran away. First two times I checked around outside and did not see anything. After a brief confrontation with the individual, we left and did not complete our stay sadly. I am sorry for the bad review but, this is not a normal thing well away from any towns.
Air conditioner would not work. Some of the electrical plugs didn't work. Terrible bed very few cover's. I left a day early will not be staying there again very unhappy
Cabin was nice and cozy. My husband and I were only there one night with our dog, and it suited our purpose just fine. However, it was lacking in a few things. Upon checking in, I noticed there was only one washcloth (plenty of towels, but only the one washcloth). I called about getting another, and he was very pleasant, and promised he would call the housekeeper to deliver another one. The only problem was that it never came, so one of us had to go without. Also, the shower could have used a shelf - would have been much easier & safer not to have to bend over to pick up shampoo from the shower floor. A couple of extra pillows for sleeping would have been nice too. But it was a cute cabin, and I appreciate that they allow dogs. Other than those minor things, I recommend it.
