You get the neighborhood feel while being in a city.

Getting Around:
The closets METRO-rail subway station is at the Shaw-Howard stop on the Green/Yellow lines. It's <10 minute walk from the home. Almost the same distance away is the U Street METRO rail stop in the other direction, but also on the Green/Yellow lines.
