The neighborhood’s largest event is the annual H Street Festival, which spans 10 blocks and attracts roughly thousands of patrons. Highlights of the fall event include musical performances and multi-cultural entertainment, in addition to art exhibits, for-sale crafts and an array of offerings from local food trucks and restaurants.`

Another must-see: the seasonal H Street Farmers` Market, open on Saturdays from mid-April to mid-December at 800 13th Street NE. Visitors will find the best of local, seasonal bounty, including handmade cow milk cheeses, fruits, vegetables, pastries and flowers. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a live chef demo and score some free samples.

As far as restaurants go, expect a multitude of delectable options. Our home is conveniently located in the city with many options for public transportation.

Guests can access our home from both airports (DCA (closest to home+IAD(further from home since it’s in Virginia)) via Metro. Guests can take the metro to Union Station and then take the free DC street car to our home (4 min walk from the 18th and Benning stop to our front door). This trip is a 2 mile ride offering stops along the H street corridor.

From our home the free DC street car can be taken to Union station and guests can take the metro to any location further out or walk to the National Mall.

The street car comes approximately every 12 minutes during the following times:

Late check out fee: $200. While we understand time can get away from us all, our cleaners do only have a few hours to clean, sanitize, and return the unit to the condition it was found in prior to the next guests arrival in a few hours. Late check out puts the next guest check in at jeopardy and costs us addition fees as the cleaner is paid to wait for the property to be vacated. Thanks for the understanding!


**Unauthorized Pet fee of $500 will be charged if necessary. While we are animal lovers and have a Viszla puppy ourselves, guests with sensitivities and allergies can ensure our home will be a comfortable stay.
