The Neighborhood:
Founded in 1749, Old Town Alexandria is older than the United States. Its streets, waterfront and stately places are absolutely beautiful and include historic sites. We have one of America's oldest continuously running farmers markets in front of City Hall just a few blocks from the house
Old Town is very quaint with quiet residential streets and a lively main commercial and dining street. It is very walkable. Local attractions include a large variety of restaurants, outdoor dining, museums, historic churches, Potomac waterfront with cruises and water taxis, souvenir shops, ghost tours, antique stores, and good paths and routes for running and biking.
Getting Around:
The King Street and Braddock Road METRO stations are within a 10-min walk.
The house is less than two blocks from historic King Street and the FREE Trolley that will take you down to the waterfront or to the King Street METRO-rail station.
Washington National Airport 3.7 miles away.
Uber and Lyft as well as numerous electric scooter companies operate throughout the area that allow you to rent them easily using their app on your smartphones.
There are also several Capitaol Bikeshare stations within a 5-minute walk of our accommodation.
Other Things to Note:
Try the popular coffee house across the street or get a bagel at Call Your Mother two blocks away. Myriad shops, restaurants, music venues, parks, bike trails at your doorstep and all along King Street. Take the water taxi to the DC waterfront or Nationals Park!
