Waratah is a very small and quiet town. We stayed for 2 nights so that we could drive to Cradle Mountain easily within 45 minutes each way. The room we stayed in was a queen room with ensuite. The whole room basically was very clean. However, it was so small that we could only stand in the room or sat on the bed. The bed was comfortable but the quilt was dusty. The staff are nice and helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay at Waratah. The rooms were clean and the meals wonderful. The Bischoff is easy walking around the town and we were lucky enough to spot a platypus or two in the nearby lake. Check out the local waterfall lit up at night. Great location!
My daughter and I stayed overnight in a twin room and we absolutely loved it! The room was clean, the bedding a towels were clean, the kitchen had everything you needed, the bathrooms were great. We loved the history of the hotel and feeling a part of it. Typical yummy pub food for dinner and lovely continental breakfast. Bonus - beautiful waterfall across the road!
It may have been foolish if I thought each room has a separate bath and shower rather than no ensuite at all. Just a men's shared facility and a woman's shared facility. At the tariff charged was expecting more. External shot of the building looked like it was fully refurbished but externally but the building still needs a lot work done on it.. lots of positives though. Quick check in, very pleasant proprietors, well suited to the industry. Excellent food but coffee expensive at $7.12 including cc surcharge for a mug. Plenty of places to plug things in , power boards with spare sockets. Plus our twin room number gave us a great view of the waterfall when standing at the small window. If you don't mind sharing facilities with others be their guest.
