Chestnut Place isn’t just a place to stay—it’s the kind of house that makes you wonder why your own home doesn’t have this much personality (or this much convenience).

Everything you need is on one level, with three sliding doors that open straight to a fully fenced backyard—because when the dog decides 5am is the perfect time to start the day, you won’t be fumbling with stairs or locks. Just slide, step, done. Outside, an English garden–inspired yard sets the scene: lush, landscaped, and ready for coffee, lawn games, or pretending you’re far more put-together than you actually are.

Inside, the vibe shifts to full Bauhaus-meets–mid-century modern. Think bright, geometric patterns, sleek Danish lines, a stack of 1950s jazz records, and yes—a lava lamp, because subtlety is overrated. It’s playful, polished, and just the right amount of retro cool.

The home has been completely remodeled, with a luxury kitchen that actually makes you want to cook (or at least open another bottle of wine) and two spa-like bathrooms that feel more boutique hotel than rental.

And there’s room for everyone—comfortably. Two king beds, a queen, and a full pullout mean no one gets stuck with the “bad room.” One bedroom is thoughtfully equipped with a changing table, making it especially easy for guests traveling with little ones.

The open-concept living space is made for gathering, with a seamless flow from the gourmet kitchen (complete with counter seating) into the living area. Whether you`re hosting, lounging, or just regrouping between tastings, it all works effortlessly. You’ll also find games on hand for a little friendly competition when the wine tasting winds down.

Step outside and you’ve got an expansive deck with oversized seating, a shaded dining area, and a high-end grill ready for serious (or not-so-serious) cooking. Built-in outdoor speakers keep the vibe going, whether it’s jazz, playlists, or whatever the group decides. Beyond that, the fenced yard is ready for everything from cornhole to cocktails.

Location-wise, you’re less than two miles from downtown Walla Walla—but tucked into a quiet cul-de-sac that feels a world away. Walk to Pioneer Park for pickleball or the aviary, bike the surrounding routes, explore Whitman College, or spend your days hopping between tasting rooms and shops.

Practical details are covered, too: a laundry room with washer and dryer, an extra half bath, and access to a two-car garage—plus additional parking space, so no one’s circling the block after a long day of tastings.

Down the hall, you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms and a full bath, plus a separate TV room for movie nights, emails you’re pretending to answer, or an afternoon nap. The couch pulls out into a full bed when needed.

And then there’s the primary suite—oversized, serene, with a king bed, a spacious en suite bath, and its own private access to the patio. It’s the perfect spot to catch the sunrise
 or at least feel good about the idea of waking up early.

Whether you`re here for wine, friends, or a family escape, Chestnut Place makes it all feel easy—and just a little more stylish than expected.

House Rules:

Check-in is at 4:00 PM or later. Check-out is 10:00 AM. Early or late requests must be approved in advance and may include a fee.

Only registered guests are allowed to stay overnight. You may have up to 4 additional daytime visitors, provided they do not stay overnight and all house rules, including quiet hours and no events, are followed.

Exceeding the maximum overnight occupancy of the home without approval may result in a minimum $500 fee and/or immediate cancellation of the reservation without refund.

Parties, events, and large gatherings are not allowed.

Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please be respectful of neighbors at all times.

No smoking or vaping inside the home. A minimum $250 fee will apply for violations.

Pets must be approved in advance where allowed. Unauthorized pets may result in additional fees.

This property includes a $50 Safely damage protection policy covering up to $3,000 in accidental damages. Guests are responsible for any damage not covered, including misuse or rule violations.

Please follow all posted rules for amenities (hot tub, pool, etc.), as additional fees may apply for misuse. Improper use of the hot tub that requires draining or additional cleaning may result in a $250 service fee.

Some homes may have exterior security cameras at entry points, which are disclosed within the listing. There are no cameras inside the home.

Homes on septic systems require care. Only toilet paper may be flushed. Do not flush wipes, paper towels, or feminine products, as damage may result.

Some properties may have additional restrictions such as no pets or adults-only policies. Please review the specific listing details for any home-specific guidelines.

Commercial photography, filming, or events are not allowed without prior approval.

For direct bookings, a 4% merchant service processing fee will be applied to all cancellations. This does not apply to reservations made through Airbnb or Marriott.

Everything exceeded our expectations. The house was clean, good neighborhood, pet friendly, and no surprises. We had an issue w/ the TV & within hours they had a new TV delivered and installed which was important as it was Thanksgiving weekend and football. The deck was well lite which made it easy to let our dog out at night. Overall, it was a cozy rental and we would stay here again.

Chestnut, a pleasant stay in Walla Walla

We arrived to the chestnut house to find a beautiful house we made into a home for the weekend. The house was full of light, decorative furniture and art, outfitted with all anyone would need. A bottle of Saviah Syrah greeted us and both inside and outside welcoming for relaxing in the beautiful Walla Walla valley. We will definitely be planning a return.
