This historic 5-bedroom, 4-bath home combines timeless character with modern comfort just blocks from Magnolia Market, the Farmers Market, Spice Village, and downtown Waco attractions. Originally built between 1907 and 1910, Fannie’s On 5th features stained glass windows, hardwood floors, tall ceilings, a clawfoot tub, and a grand front porch with rocking chairs, creating a one-of-a-kind stay near Baylor University.

Fannie’s On 5th places you within walking distance of Magnolia Market, the Silos, the Farmers Market, Spice Village, Austin Avenue shops and restaurants, and many of downtown Waco’s most popular attractions. Baylor University is about a mile away, and Waco Surf is only a short drive from the home, making this a convenient location for both relaxing weekends and Baylor visits.

The Home
Originally constructed between 1907 and 1910, Fannie’s On 5th is a beautifully restored historic home filled with craftsmanship and character rarely found today. From the moment you arrive, the grand front porch welcomes you with large columns, handcrafted details, and white wicker rocking chairs perfect for slow mornings or relaxing evenings.

Inside, the home showcases many of its original architectural features, including stained glass windows, transoms, hardwood floors, tall ceilings, hand-carved woodwork, and an original fireplace mantel designed to mirror the stained glass patterns throughout the home. Guests will also find timeless touches like a clawfoot tub, vintage pedestal sink, and a charming sleeping porch lined with original windows.

The home has been lovingly restored by the great-great-granddaughter of the original owners, who rediscovered the property generations later and thoughtfully preserved its historic beauty while adding modern comforts throughout. Each bedroom includes unique decorative touches inspired by family history, local artists, and meaningful personal details connected to the home’s story.

Super cool place ! We stayed at Fannie’s for Easter weekend with extended family and had such a lovely time . The house is comfortable and nostalgic. We had everything we needed . One family arrived earlier than expected and was able to check in early with just a quick message . Everything was easy and the location is excellent. We definitely recommend Fannie’s !

Great stay! Fannie's on 5th was perfect, as we hoped, for our girls' trip to Waco. Beautiful home with a neat history and close to everything we were doing--Baylor, Magnolia, downtown, Cameron Park. Clean house, easy check-in, easy to message with host! Plenty of sleeping and bathroom accommodations plus space to hang out. Loved the upstairs sunroom too!

Our group enjoyed a wonderful family gathering at Fannies on 5th. This beautiful home was spotless, comfortable and in a great location for the things we wanted to do around Waco. Communication with the property manager was very responsive and helpful. We appreciated the layout of the house and all of the abundant kitchen equipment. We would highly recommend this home!

Great house for a large group. Loved the front porch and spacious rooms. We were there to celebrate my daughter’s Bridal Shower. I was thankful for the two refrigerators because I made and transported the cake and was able to keep it separate from all of our other food. The kitchen is a good size but if you want to do any serious cooking, bring what you need. The kitchen could use more cookware/bakeware storage containers. Other than that the house was great!! Would stay there again!!

Perfect for Families

This is a beautiful historical space to have family or friends. There are so many thoughtful details such as coffee, extra items in the pantry and lots of towels. The different porches are fantastic for relaxing, chatting and having coffee. Do yourself a favor and stay here, you'll never want to stay anywhere else in Waco.
