The villa’s amazing infinity-edged swimming pool, nestled amongst the garden’s tropical plants, is the ideal place to unwind at any time of the day. Here, you will be treated to unforgettable views of the Caribbean Sea at sunset, before relaxing over a leisurely dinner and a cocktail in the glass-paneled outdoor dining area. This area also includes a modern barbecue grill. The terrace offers guests comfortable poolside sun loungers, where you can sunbathe all afternoon or enjoy a good book in the seclusion of your own private garden.

Villa Rae’s interior space offers guests an abundance of contemporary charm, with décor that serves to highlight the amazing views and echoes the natural beauty of the surrounding island. Antigua and Barbuda are a nation made up of two sister islands and several smaller islets, all situated in the heart of the Caribbean. The fantastic location of Tamarind Hills on Antigua’s southwest coastline means you will have access to the fine white sands of two idyllic beaches, Ffryes and Darkwood. Surrounded by dense green hilltops, Ffryes Beach is a popular spot with tourists and locals alike. Here, you can spend the day snorkeling in the turquoise waters, before indulging in an excellent dinner at one of the restaurants on the marina at nearby Jolly Harbour.

Slightly further afield, Nelson’s Dockyard National Park is one of five national parks in Antigua. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this eighteenth-century British naval dockyard is an area of great historical significance on the island, as well as a popular venue for maritime events and activities. For those who wish to experience the magic for themselves, there are plenty of sailing excursions and water-based activities available.

There are plenty of fantastic trekking trails around the island, taking in sandy beaches, rainforests and dreamlike coastal views. For a challenging hike, put on your hiking shoes and visit Mount Obama, the highest peak in Antigua. From the summit, enjoy the panoramic views, before descending to Cades Bay for a delightfully refreshing dip in the ocean.

Don’t forget to visit Shirley Heights, a restored military lookout known for its bewitching views and community feel. With a popular street party happening every Sunday evening, visitors are welcome to enjoy the music of live Caribbean steel drum bands, taste some of the local food and rum punch and take in the breathtaking sights as the sun begins to go down on the beautiful island of Antigua.
