Boat hire is available locally, allowing visitors to explore the surrounding islands, whilst the village itself and neighbouring countryside also offer great walking opportunities. Known as the capital of West Cork, the town of Skibbereen is only seven miles away, and boasts shops, restaurants and pubs, along with the fascinating West Cork Arts Centre and Skibbereen Heritage Centre.
