The picturesque countryside of Llwynygroes is just 5.5 miles from the ancient market town of Tregaron, nestled astride the River Brenig in the shadow of the Cambrian Mountains. Keen outdoor explorers can enjoy plenty of footpaths and mountain biking trails through the open countryside; join the Cwm Berwyn Walk (7.5 miles) or the Ystwyth Cycle Trail beginning in Tregaron to be rewarded with unspoilt rural views. Wildlife enthusiasts can venture to Cors Caron, 6.5 miles away, a nature reserve spanning 2,000 acres, filling the valley of the upper Teifi River between Tregaron and Pontrhydfendigaid. Answer the call of the seaside along the coastlines of Aberaeron and Aberystwyth, both reached within 21 miles.
