Our 4-season waterfront home is a beautiful gathering spot with memories at every turn. It sits on the shores of Lake Erie, on a quiet private road in the heart of Essex wine country. The moment you step into the cottage and see the lake view, relaxation soon follows.

The cottage has an open-concept layout for easy entertaining. It offers a large fully equipped kitchen, a dining room with a gas fireplace, a living room with stunning lake views, three generous-sized bedrooms, and all the luxuries of home with high-speed Wi-Fi. Outside you will enjoy a beautiful outdoor space with a covered porch, new 12x25 deck, a gas BBQ, sitting area, and a dining space to enjoy outdoor meals.

Enjoy the sun, take a dip in the lake, experience local attractions, and end your evenings with breathtaking sunsets while you relax by the outdoor fire pit.

A wonderful experience. Everything was seamless and host communication was warm clear and efficient. The place is gorgeous, comfortable and well kitted-out. We didn't expect to be so close to the water and would definitely visit again in warmer weather.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cottage! The location right on the water was incredible — peaceful mornings with coffee on the deck and stunning sunsets every night. The home itself had such a cozy, cottage feel while still being fully equipped with everything we could possibly need for our stay. From the well-stocked kitchen to the comfortable beds and thoughtful touches throughout, it truly felt like a home away from home. You can tell the owners put a lot of care into making sure guests have the best experience.

Super clean, well laid out house. The pictures on the listing don’t do the home justice. The view of the water was stellar with easy access down to the water. Easy to swim/walk through the water as it’s very sandy. Host was prompt with any questions we had leading into and during our stay.

Just What We Needed!

We enjoyed our stay so very much. Jennifer and Sebastian are perfect hosts and keep the cottage stocked well (kitchen, bathrooms, etc).This is an adorable cottage and the view of the water from inside the house as well as the deck and backyard is incredible. The beds are comfortable and so is the other furniture in the house.There are wineries as well as a lavender farm to visit, or you can just stay at the cottage and veg out watching the water and enjoying a campfire.We will be returning next year!

Will definitely want to stay there again

House was exactly as the photos describe it. Clean with all the amenities, swimming access, very close to wineries and small towns to visit or for running errands. The only drawback was the timing of our visit. It happened to be during the mayfly season, which means there's a lot of them and they are on everything. We're from Toledo which is also on Lake Erie so this is nothing new to us. I simply had to sweep them away from the patio area every morning. It didn't dull the great time we had. Next time we'll just book a few weeks later in the summer.

Perfectly Tranquil Setting

Five of us arrived at different times to attend a wedding at a winery 5 minutes away. The location was perfect as it allowed us to relax and not have to worry about a long drive before or after the event. The lake house was also perfect! Opening the bright yellow door, we were welcomed to a breathtaking view of the lake shining through the windows ahead of us! What a welcome! It was a rainy weekend but I enjoyed my brief time sitting outside on a blue lawn chair just feeling the warmth of the setting sun and the breeze in my face. It has been a trying month and this was a beautiful way to relax and unwind. We all enjoyed our rooms and slept very comfortably in the beds. The house is well-stocked with everything you might need. Seb and Jen are great communicators and generous hosts who genuinely wanted us to have the best experience. Thank you both....because we really, truly did! I highly recommend the Colchester Lake House!

Beautiful cottage. Well appointed property. Immaculately cleaned and very comfortable. Professional looking decor. Well stocked kitchen and pantry. Unfortunately, Mother Nature created some insurmountable challenges and we had to leave earlier than expected. Overall a lovely place and we would consider another visit in the future.

Great spot with Lake Access

This was a great spot that had direct lake access with shallow swimming and wading. Property was super clean with all the necessary accessories especially in the kitchen. One warning I would offer for families with kids is to bring your own beach or water toys. Aside from that this was a great spot and would definitely come back.

Great place to stay

Really clean and nicely updated. Owner is really friendly. Great location being in the lake and So many wineries near by. Only thing I would mention is to maybe try to treat the spiders with something. It’s understandable that being on the lake is the nature of the beast, but we did come across a few large spiders inside. Thanks for everything, we’ll be back.
