We made a last minute reservation and, since it was off season, weâre the only ones staying at the Inn. They were very friendly and did everything they could to make us feel at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Inn by the River.
Excellent stay. The Inn, while a bit dated, is very charming and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff very pleasant. Great value and if we had had more time there is lots to do in the area.
We spent a very comfortable night here en route to Quebec. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good. No complaints from us!
The staff was very busy but made time to talk and visit with you . The available Bar and excellent restaurant are a big plus. Itâs an Inn by the river, but they made you feel like you were home.
Great stay! Stopover on our way to Quebec. What a warm welcome. Felt right at home. Beautiful view. Great cocktails. Very friendly staff. Very clean. Loved it!
The staff at the inn were all incredible, the first time they met you they greeted you with your name and all the staff always knew who you were anytime they saw you. They were always happy and cheerful toward all of there guests. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice clean and tidy. We also ate at the hotel and the food was wonderful. This was a wonderful place to stay, my wife and I actually had extended our stay because we liked it so much. Thank you to all the wonderful staff that work there, we can't wait to return
Very comfortable rooms with good view of river. Nice staff. Very disappointed in breakfast. Base on price and marketing they could remedy the continental breakfast quite easily
A lovely stay at a small inn. Greeted by friendly staff who went out of their way to accommodate requests. There are no televisions in the rooms, so it's nice and quiet. There's a shared mini fridge and microwave for guests and coffee is always on. Close to beautiful hikes, just ask for a list of local sights. Fine dining at the Inn overlooking the sunset on the Kennebec River or a fun pub, Boatmans, owned by the same folks just down the road for Tuesday taco night and ping pong. The king bed was deliciously comfortable, the shower and jacuzzi in-room were perfect. All in all a fantastic stay.
This is a perfect INN, not a hotel. Staff (Josh) was perfect. Rooms were one bed with bathroom. Refrigerator was in the hallway (none in room), No TV. Which was perfect.
All guests ate, drank at the bar and visited with each other. It was PERFECT. We met a lovely young couple from Switzerland, Group of Older women on a women's vacation as well as locals, construction workers and truck drivers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
initially, it was fine...until we found dead flies...tons...under bed, on chair. sounds like its a common issue...then we started seeing Japanese beetles crawling around the ceilings and walls...another common issue. someone came up to vacuum the dead ones up like it's a daily thing. luckily it was just for a one night stay. very limited continental breakfast. bought breakfast from the onsite restaurant..very good, reasonably priced. no tv in the room, so we watched the beetles. can't recommend this inn...
I cannot recommend this hotel. It was completely outdated. The room did not have a tv. The service was subpar. I asked for an extra pillow and was told they didnât have one. Mind you, the hotel was no where near full. I felt like I was staying at my grandparentâs house. Most items on their restaurant menu were not available. I would NEVER stay there again. Had I not paid in advance, I would have left and found someplace else to stay.
Very quiet location , but so close to excellent trail walks ⊠right on the river as the title suggests âŠ
All staff excellent ⊠a pleasure to have stayed there ..
We loved staying at Inn By The River. Everyone was so friendly, guests and staff and the food and drink in the bar and restaurant were great. The location was fabulous with wonderful hiking trails nearby. Although it was a bit of a drive to get to Grand Falls, it was definitely worth the time. One of the highlights of our monthlong exploration of the NE.
