Casa Barracuda is a stunning oceanview home located in an upscale neighborhood in Las Catalinas, a charming, up-and-coming beach town on Costa Rica’s Gold Coast.



The Space:

This three-level home features modern bohemian-style decor, high-end furnishings, and spa-like amenities, including multiple oceanview balconies and an outdoor jacuzzi tub that overlooks the sunset.



This well-lit home features three stories, each with its own bedroom. Each bedroom accommodates two guests in a queen-sized bed, and the home features two living spaces, each with a sleeper sofa. The entire home can accommodate ten guests, with a recommended capacity of six adults and four children.



The second level on the main floor features a beautiful open-concept living room and kitchen. The living room is furnished with a linen sectional with modern neutral throw pillows, a matching set of wooden chairs, and a wooden coffee table. The space features a TV and a ceiling fan, and is situated next to a floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door that leads out to a covered balcony with ocean views.



The stunning kitchen on the home’s main level features a modern design and high-end stainless steel appliances. At the center of the kitchen is a large quartz island, surrounded by six chairs situated under elegant pendant lights. Behind the island is a well-equipped cooking space, featuring stylish ocean-blue cabinets and a chic tile backsplash. The kitchen includes an oven with a stovetop and range hood, a microwave, a dishwasher, a matte black farmhouse sink, and a refrigerator and freezer.



The bedroom on the home’s main level features a queen-sized bed with a wooden headboard and nightstands, a closet, and stylish blue artwork and decor. Guests in this room have access to the full bathroom located on the main floor, which features a modern walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead and a single-sink vanity.

The living room features a couch, a wooden coffee table, a high-top table with two stools, a TV, and a door that opens to a lovely terrace, furnished with a wooden loveseat and coffee table. It sits next to a small kitchenette equipped with an oven, stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, and sink, set against white cabinets and a stylish backsplash that matches the main kitchen.



The master bedroom, located upstairs, features a lofty vaulted ceiling and an elegant modern design, with white and cream accents and light wood furniture. The Neighborhood:

Las Catalinas



Las Catalinas is a unique development north of Potrero built in the style of an Old World Mediterranean village, with fountains and car-free streets made of paving stones. It’s right in front of the beautiful Playa Danta, at the northern end of a road that connects to Potrero, Flamingo and Brasilito to the south.



In addition to its many high-end homes, Las Catalinas has two luxury hotels, Casa Chameleon and Santarena Hotel, both with great restaurants. Las Catalinas has a gourmet grocery store, clothing shops, adventure outfitters and various eateries. Just be advised that prices here are a bit high.



Access to the beach is free and open to the public, and there’s lots of shade. The hills behind Las Catalinas also have miles of trails used for hiking and mountain biking, and there’s a bike rental shop in town.



Las Catalinas is one hour from the international airport in Liberia. Several towns and beaches are within a 20-minute drive, including Potrero, Flamingo and Brasilito.
