A great choice for a getaway with family or friends, this lovely three-bedroom cottage is set on a working farm just a mile from the coast on the beautiful peninsula of Kintyre. Offering some of Scotlandâs most breathtaking scenery, the area is ideal for getting out and about while escaping the crowds. Pull on your boots to explore the walking route of the Kintyre Way, which passes nearby, or cycle the exciting new Kintyre 66 route on two wheels. Golfers will appreciate the five golf clubs on the peninsula, and there are all kinds of water sports available, from surfing and scuba diving to kayaking and paddle boarding. In Campbeltown, 26 miles away, you can visit any of the three whisky distilleries. Postcard-pretty Tarbert with its working fishing harbour is 12 miles away, while Skipness (14 miles) has a castle, a chapel and a popular seafood shack.
After parking at the back of the cottage, which has a driveway with space for up to two cars, step into the utility room, where you can hang up your coats and kick off your boots. In the spacious kitchen/diner, you can cook up tasty treats using local produce, with a dishwasher to help clear up afterwards. Dine by the window, where there are views over the countryside to the sea â you can sit and watch the ferries in the distance coming in from Islay. When you stroll across to the lounge, ready to relax for the evening, you can enjoy similar stunning vistas, or draw the curtains and switch on the Smart TV, enjoy a movie or a box set. Snuggle into the sofas and, if youâre feeling chilly, light the wood burner and relax in its glowing warmth. Completing the ground floor is a bathroom with a bath, a separate shower and WC. Head up the stairs to find the three tastefully designed bedrooms: a double and two twins, plus a family shower room.
When you feel like some fresh air, perhaps for a morning cuppa or to settle down with a good book, the garden has a fenced lawn for children to play. Private parking for two cars.
