Welcome to our tranquil lakeside retreat on beautiful Lake Papakeechie! 10 minutes from Lake Wawasee, all sports lake and Oakwood Resort.

The space
You'll enjoy this cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage! Kayaks, paddleboating and fishing!

On the upper level you will find 2 bedrooms. One with a queen size bed and the other has a double bunk bed. Lower level- Full bath with tub/shower, family room with a cozy electric fireplace! and dining room. Kitchen is also on lower level and is stocked with and just about any type of cooking utensils you need. Combo gas/charcoal grill on patio. Please review photos or ask questions. Cottage has a lot of steps, inside and out. Please review photos carefullly.

Other things to note

Lake Papkeechie is a quiet non motor lake. We do not allow any trailers, boats etc, due to lack of parking and overall space.

**There is an external camera located on the carport facing the road and front yard.**

No parties, loud music or smoking. Must be respectful of our neighbors. Neighborhood is very quiet. Sound travels very easliy outside.
Pets are not allowed on furniture. You must remove pet waste from the yard. We charge a $200 fee if we clean up after your pet.

A perfect place to relax, sleep and enjoy the outdoors! Everything you need in an amazing serene and private location, all under one roof. . Lots of quiet, wildlife and even day trips if you decide not to fish or use the beautiful lake. Step back in time with bonfires and long walks in the fresh air. Amazing stay! Can’t wait to come back. My family LOVED it. Thank you.

Just What We Wanted

We were looking for a quiet lake cottage to relax near and this is what we got. The lake does not permit motors. The host used a personalized entry code for us; this was very thoughtful and made it easy to remember.The kitchen and bathroom are larger than other lake cottages we’ve seen and are nicely updated. The kitchen was stocked to the max with dishes. All pots and pans were in excellent condition. There was a large assortment of cooking supplies (spices, oils, etc.)The beds were comfortable.The combination gas/charcoal grill was like new.The lake atmosphere here is very quiet and relaxing; there are multiple decks on which to sit, sun, relax; deck furniture is in excellent condition; docks are well-maintained; the paddle boat and kayaks were fun to use; there are an abundance of good quality life preservers and towels.As listed, the stairs are narrow and steep; we easily managed them (the automatic lights are great!); people with limited mobility should look elsewhere, though.We had occasion to talk with the host; she was very friendly and concerned that we were enjoying our stay.

Awesome trip

Perfect location on the lake. Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. It was a toasty week but there is plenty of shade and water. Between the covered porch and some well located, large trees, we had shade most of the day on one of the several areas available to relax. Got a chance to hike the nature preserve a bit and enjoy several restaurants in town. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great week stay. Very clean house, nice appliances, nice view of lake, a lot of helpful items. Dog bowls, games, lake, a lot of plates/cups, trash bags. Makes you feel right at home!

Papakeechie Lake House

Everything was wonderful and we really enjoyed the kayaks/paddleboat. Very functional for a 3 week stay. Only suggestion is an exhaust fan in bathroom would have been helpful when we had to all shower. (Little window opens and it helped)

Peaceful & Relaxing

The lakeside cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. We were able to fish, read our books, and relax in this serene setting. Easy drive to restaurants, grocery and activities.

Fun, Peaceful Getaway

Neighborhood is not welcoming to short-term rentals. The signs in front of all the houses proved this. We had a fantastic time in spite of that. Very well equipped kitchen and great lake toys. Very clean and perfect for our small family gathering.

Tranquility on the lake

It was a very calm and quiet location. Great accomodtions and helpful host. And... the paddle boat was a real hit with mu grandson. Also, met the neighbor who was very kind and friendly. Finally, I have to add that it was a wonderful sound of silence with no power boats of any kind being allowed on this lake.

The perfect fall getaway

From the point of booking to the time of departure, this trip was just perfect. The house was the cleanest we've ever rented for a vacation, and we were appreciative of all the small details and conveniences the host added, like having a few toiletries for the restroom and spices & condiments in the kitchen, to name a few. We were pleasantly surprised to have a washer and dryer, and all furniture and appliances seemed brand new! Beds and couches were super comfy too. The lake was pure bliss and we thoroughly enjoyed kayaking, paddle boating and fishing. The host was extremely helpful and so quick at responding to any questions we had. I felt like she truly cared about us having a good time, which was refreshing! The area was so quiet and was the perfect setting for a tranquil vacation. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful spot to get away!

Relaxing

We had a really relaxing time at this compact home on Papakeechie Lake. We did some exploring in Goshen and Nappanee, but mostly stuck around the home visiting. The home has everything we needed. The only unforeseen incident was that, while running the dishwasher and the microwave, we tripped a breaker. We found the breaker box and fixed it and didn't run the two at the same time, again.

Exactly how we wanted to spend our Labir Day weekend!

The location and house were perfect for relaxing. We floated in the water, we went fishing a lot, we had our kids over for a cookout and they all enjoyed the water too. The house was just right!! It was so quiet and peaceful! We felt like we were getting a glimpse at our future dream!
