Step into Doverow Cottage, a charming 19th-century, two-bedroom cottage in Stonehouse near Stroud, Gloucestershire. Sleeping up to four guests, it’s a cosy and well-connected base just minutes from the M5, ideal for exploring Stroud, Gloucester and the Cotswolds, and equally suited to short breaks or longer stays.
Please note that the staircase is very steep, so we wouldn`t recommend this property for guests with mobility issues — we`d kindly ask you to consider this before booking to avoid any difficulties on arrival. The house comfortably fits 4 guests (ideal for a couple with two children or two couples); we wouldn`t recommend booking for larger groups, as the space is best suited to four.
Guests choose this cottage for its warm character and practical comfort: a bright living room with a log burner, a fully equipped kitchen with dining for four, a dedicated workspace with reliable Wi-Fi, and an enclosed courtyard garden for morning coffee, relaxed meals, or unwinding after a day out. For wider exploring, you’re well placed for the historic cities of Gloucester, Bath and Cheltenham, and for visiting picturesque Cotswold villages including Bourton-on-the-Water and Cirencester. Local farm shops and the scenic Cotswold hills are also nearby, making this an excellent base for mixing town life with outdoor time.
Getting around
- Around 5 minutes to the M5 (junctions 12 and 13) for straightforward regional travel
- Stonehouse train station: around a 3-minute drive or a 20-minute walk, with direct links to Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol and London
- EV charging: available at the nearby Texaco garage and Costa Coffee Business Park

- If payment fails, it must be completed within 24 hours or the booking will be cancelled.
- Early payment is allowed; card fees up to 3 percent are non-refundable if cancelled.
