Elk Run is situated in a small, peaceful bay at the west end of Lac Courte Oreilles, offering stunning views and easy lake access. It’s just a short boat ride to Trails End Resort, where you can enjoy food, drinks, and live music. Spend your days dock fishing, grilling a meal outdoors, or sitting around the fire pit while taking in the lake views.

The screened-in sun porch is a guest favorite, providing a perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee without worrying about mosquitoes on warm summer nights. The brand-new dock offers direct access to LCO’s crystal-clear waters, ideal for swimming, fishing, and boating. The lower-level family room is packed with entertainment, featuring a flat-screen TV, foosball table, pool table, and a Golden Tee arcade game.

Inside, the spacious, modern kitchen comes fully equipped with all-new pots, pans, and cookware, making meal prep a breeze. Outdoor Features
Elk Run’s outdoor spaces are designed for making memories. The large deck offers stunning lake views, perfect for gathering and relaxing. The brand-new dock makes it easy to enjoy the water, whether you’re fishing, swimming, or bringing your own boat. A fire pit by the shoreline creates the perfect setting for evening campfires and stargazing. While there are steps down to the water, the elevated views from the deck are absolutely worth it.

Boating & Water Activities
LCO is an amazing boating lake, known for crystal-clear water, great fishing, and fantastic swimming spots. The lake features a secret sandbar where boaters love to anchor and swim.

We have several pontoon rental options available for our guests, including two 2021 Bennington pontoons, one with a 90 HP motor and one with a 125 HP motor. Pontoons are first come, first served, so we recommend reserving early. Additional water toys and boat rentals are available from local vendors—just ask for a list of options. The cabin also includes a private dock for your boat, and there are several well-maintained public boat launches nearby.

Convenient Location & Nearby Attractions
Elk Run provides a peaceful retreat while still being just 12 miles from downtown Hayward, where you can explore charming shops, restaurants, and local attractions like the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. Take a 10-15 minute drive into town for shopping, mini-golf, or a visit to the famous candy store. There are also several golf courses, restaurants, and the LCO Casino just a short drive away.

Elk Run is also conveniently located only a 2.5-hour drive from the Twin Cities, making it an easily accessible getaway for a long weekend or an extended stay.
