Welcome to The Nest — An Elevated Lake Michigan Escape

Entirely renovated and thoughtfully designed for multiple families, The Nest Lake Michigan is your home base for laid-back luxury, lakeside adventure, and timeless year round memories. Nestled on a peaceful wooded acre west of Red Arrow Highway, this serene escape is just 90 minutes from Chicago—but feels a world away.

Perfectly positioned near all the charming beach towns of Southwest Michigan, The Nest is an equidistant 10-12 minute drive to Warren Dunes State Park and Silver Beach in St. Joseph, with Grand Mere State Park just down the street for hiking, dunes, and nature walks. Bike 12 minutes to the nearest beach access or unwind at home—you may never want to leave.

Outside, the grounds are an entertainer’s dream. Take a dip in the new heated pool, unwind in the hot tub, or cook up a feast in the covered outdoor kitchen with a 48" built-in grill, prep sink, ice maker, and plenty of space for cocktails and conversation. Challenge friends to basketball out front or bocce ball in the backyard while the kids enjoy the games, toys, and green space.

The interior is equally impressive. A chef’s kitchen anchors the open-concept cooking and dining space with high-end appliances soaring ceilings, a 48" KitchenAid range with griddle, Gaggenau steamer, pot filler, beverage cooler, three prep sinks, and two dishwashers. It’s a space designed for togetherness and ease—whether you’re cooking with local farmstand finds or gathering over a shared meal at the expansive white oak dining table.

For indoor entertainment, enjoy a retro arcade, dart board, and six smart TVs (with Roku guest mode for easy log-in/log-out). Spacious bedrooms, multiple lounging areas, and quiet corners make it easy for everyone to relax in comfort. Four gas fireplaces (in both living rooms, and two bedrooms) make it the coziest home for year round relaxation.

Practicality is covered, too. A circular drive and full-length driveway lead to a two-car garage, with one bay open for guest use. The other is stocked with seasonal gear: 4 adult bikes, 2 mid-size bikes, a Burley double bike trailer, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, quality pool floats and sand toys and sled—all provided for your stay.

A few very good friends and I came up for a weekend getaway and we had a blast! The entire property is beautiful. Plenty of space for the 5 of us. The pool/hot tub were very vital for the trip and we really enjoyed both. We also really enjoyed the record player with great choices of music. Everything we could need is already at the house, which was wonderful. Communication with Mari was fantastic as well. We would definitely love to comeback!

We had an incredible girls weekend at the Nest! The house was way beyond our expectations with comfortable beds, luxury linens, huge comfy couches, upgraded fixtures in the bathrooms kitchen outdoor etc and literally everything you could want or need for a vacay house. More well equipped than my own home! The yard and pool are perfectly secluded and beautiful. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, campfire, and the house was so cozy on a rainy morning. We did not want to leave, it is truly a retreat! Updated but lovely character throughout and plenty of room for 9 women. Mari and her husband were easy to reach when we had a minor issue. We will absolutely be back next year!

We absolutely loved this property! So many amenities, we didn’t need to bring anything except our clothes. We all loved the pool and outdoor spaces. Our bed was very comfortable. Mari is a great host and made us feel so welcome. Would love to stay here again.

Wonderful Experience

We booked our family trip here and we were all very pleased with our experience. The house felt very welcoming, comfortable, and luxe. Mari was kind, responsive, and helpful. It was so nice to have the pool, especially since we had several young children with us. The house is well stocked with toys, books, and a lot to do for kids and families. The pool is warm and shaded for a good part of the day, so it’s very comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit, the bikes, and the outdoor kitchen. We went into town a few mornings and the beach isn’t far as well. All in all, we had a truly lovely time and would definitely recommend this place!

Amazing stay

Our group (4 adults, 4 kids) had such a wonderful stay at this lovely home. Sprawling complex with every amenity that a family could imagine. The grandkids really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The weather cooperated and our family truly enjoyed our first time experiencing Lake Michigan and the surrounding quaint communities.

AWESOME HOUSE!

This was my first VRBO experience and Mari was so patient and helpful with all of my questions and requests! We were in town for my son’s wedding, and traveling with a 4-week old granddaughter, my other two children and their spouses
 the house was comfortable for all, very nicely decorated and had everything you could ever want or need! The backyard was perfect for a barbecue, even in the rain. Mari, thank you for a very wonderful and memorable stay!!!

Best Bach

The Nest was the PERFECT place to host the most special girl's weekend. The house has PLENTY of space and bathrooms to accommodate all guests. The location is perfect. The backyard is amazing between the outdoor dining, new pool, firepit and hot tub. Everything we could have asked for. Mari even left us some nice champagne and beautiful charcuterie board to kick off the weekend. Thanks again!

Fantastic host and house!!!

We stayed here for a long weekend with friends - very nice woodsy feel to it with a great new heated pool! Very clean and spacious and the kitchen is Stocked with everything you will need to stay a weekend with little kids! Mari was such a generous and accommodating host - really appreciate her responsiveness! She even made us a huge welcoming charcuterie board. Would stay here again!

Family Getaway

We had a wonderful stay. Mari went above and beyond to make our stay perfect in every way from everyday essentials to bikes and toys for infants on up. It was a beautiful home and the pool was a big hit. Our 5 year old grandson said we should come back to this house again! Great Experience!

Beautiful home, stocked with everything needed for a great vacation. The host provided snack boards, wine, and was very communicative.
