Vineyard Carriage House with High Speed Internet.

Upper floor of our Carriage House located at South River Vineyard, a working vineyard producing Viognier and Petit Mensang grapes. The two bedroom, one bath cottage offers views of the vineyards as well as the surrounding Shanendoah foothills and neighboring pastures.
The cottage has a small balcony perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktail hour. There is also a private fire pit and grill for guests to enjoy. Bottom level is used to store farm vehicles.
Located just 20 miles from Charlottesville/University of Virginia, 12 miles from the Swift Run Gap entrance for Skyline Drive, 11 miles from Early Mountain Vineyard, and 15 miles from Massanutten Resort. Bring your bicycles, hiking shoes, and dogs too.

We had a wonderful week-long stay at the Carriage House. We loved our stay. The owner, Angela, gave us detailed check-in instruction along with a phone number should we need to get in touch with her. Place was clean and comfortable with everything that we could need. The carriage house had beautiful views of the vineyard and the pasture with three very friendly cows. It was also very close to places we wanted to visit: Skyline Drive, Charlottesville, Monticello and great wineries. I would certainly recommend staying here.

Welcoming and comfortable!

We had another wonderful stay at the Vineyard Carriage House. Angela is so welcoming! The private land with view of the vineyard is gorgeous and the cottage is lovely. We were comfortable with cozy beds and everything we needed. We will be back!

Cute Mountain Cottage with Charm

We absolutely loved our stay here. The property had so much charm and a pasture with the cutest cows and right next to a vineyard. The small touches of hospitality (welcome note, gift basket, extra toiletries, bath caddy with. The fire pit was lovely. Only downside was it wasn't as secluded as we expected and the listing said there was a pool, but there wasn't one (not a big deal as it wasn't in the photos). I would absolutely recommend this place to others and hope to come back again some time.

Another wonderful stay

Everything holds true from my 10/12/23 review regarding how excellent Vineyard Carriage House is. I wanted to add a few additional comments. First, the meadow walking trail has been converted into a pasture that houses four cows. Angela provided us the opportunity to meet and feed the cows. Second, Angela generously shared some of her homemade chocolate in the gift basket. The chocolate is scrumptious!

Wonderful stay at Vineyard Carriage House

Vineyard Carriage House is an excellent property and the perfect place to stay for visiting Shenandoah National Park. The house is located on scenic grounds with walking trails that pass through a meadow and the grapevines. The house itself is very cozy and immaculately clean. We were greeted by a gift basket that included wine, confections, and potpourri. The pantry was stocked with snacks, coffee pods, and kitchen supplies. The master bed is memory foam. Angela generously fulfilled our request to provide a high chair for our toddler. The next opportunity to stay here can’t come soon enough!

charming carriage house

this place was perfect for a weekend exploring shenandoah national park. my friend and i stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the park, wineries, and great restaurants. it was a great stay and would highly recommend angela’s place to anyone visiting the area!

Relaxing escape

The newly renovated Carriage House in Greene County was a wonderful place to base ourselves as we explored the surrounding area over a long weekend. Angela has taken great care to provide everything you’ll need for your stay, complete with a lovely welcome basket of goodies. With a fire pit just outside the house, you can fully appreciate the beautiful setting of South River Vineyard - you can’t help relax and enjoy getting away from it all in the Virginia countryside. We would absolutely stay again. Many thanks!

Beautiful details and charming

This was our second trip - we love it here. Angela made the charming cottage so welcoming for us with wine and chocolate. Every detail is thoughtful and classy from the toiletries to the coffee to the fire pit to the variety of records for the record player. The beds are so comfortable! The view is fantastic. The location is near great wineries and consider visiting Noon Whistle Pottery for art/ gifts. Not a thing I’d change- we hope to come back again!

Thoughtful, charming, and lovely - best host!!

It was lovely waking up to the view of the vineyards and mountains. Though the inside of the Carriage House was just as wonderful! Angela and Dean creates such a welcoming place! We arrived to a basket of wine and homemade chocolates and every other detail was delightful. The home was so clean and clear and calm for us to have our girls weekend away. We will tell others and be back!

Perfect getaway

Perfect location (Shenandoah, winery!!), and perfectly decorated carriage house. I have never felt so much welcomed! Angela thought about every detail, from a gift basket that included s’more kit for the fire place, or snack bars for hiking trips to an umbrella for rainy days. I like to cook and everything I needed was here too (and more!) I recommended the place to a friend of mine but unfortunately it was booked. Thank you Angela and Dean for everything, we will definitely come back!!

Beautiful stay!

We loved our mini-vacay at the Carriage House! It’s a great location and gorgeous property. Plenty of close-by outdoor activities, like hiking and biking, even right on the property! Angela and Dean were wonderful hosts, and even welcomed us with a locally-made bottle of wine. It’s a new listing, so there are a few kinks to work out, but we would come back in a heartbeat!
