À propos de cet hébergement

Historic 200-year old stone built Annex near Stamford, Lincolnshire

The Blue Boar Annex is a charming, quirky and characterful stone-built retreat, over 200 years old and full of original features including exposed oak beams and traditional brickwork. Set mediately behind Blue boar house and within an attractive courtyard it is both quiet and peaceful.

Set in the historic village of Bainton, it is close to both Peterborough and Stamford, and ideal for convenient access to Burghley House and the beautiful surrounding countryside. There is easy access via a local bus to both Stamford and peterborough railway stations. We are also handy for easy access to the A1 north and South.

The annex is a cosy, self-contained space consisting of one main room with a comfortable 4ft 6in double bed and an oak beamed mezzanine level above, reached by wooden steps, with two additional comfortable 3ft single beds. It is ideally suited to two adults, or a couple with one or two children as the mezzanine level has restricted headroom.

There is a large en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. Although the annex does not have a kitchen, we provide a fridge, microwave, toaster and tea and coffee-making facilities, making it suitable for breakfast, snacks and simple meals. There is also a dining table, large-screen TV, DVD player, DVDs, books and games, together with Wi-Fi.

Guests have their own entrance and key, giving complete freedom to come and go. They are welcome to enjoy the garden and its various seating areas, although the garden is shared with the owners. There is adequate off road parking outside the main house or a vehicle can be accomodated on the main drive if required.

Please note that this is a genuinely old building with some low doorways and beams. The external blue door is approximately 5ft 8in high, the en-suite doorway is approximately 5ft 4in, and the lowest beam beneath the mezzanine is approximately 6ft 1in. We mention these details before booking so guests can decide whether the property is suitable for them.

We have a small, friendly dog called Marnie who is both blind and deaf and loves people and may be outside when we are at home, so guests should be friendly and comfortable around dogs. The annex is strictly non-smoking. Please close the gates after you to keep marnie safe.
