Ava Mae Cottage was designed for pool side relaxation and comfortable indoor living spaces for your family vacation. Come on in and wind down to the island lifestyle. Home sleeps 6 in bedrooms with 2 additional single sofa beds. This is a 3 bedroom home with additional loft sleeping. Bring your swimsuits and have fun!

THE SPACE
Ava Mae Cottage was designed for pool side relaxation and comfortable indoor living spaces. Big pool with poolside seating options in sun and shade.


Bedrooms:
* Primary Suite: Upstairs, king bed smart TV, adjoining full bathroom with shower and separate water closet.
* Downstairs King Suite: king bed, smart TV, adjoining full bathroom with shower.
* Upstairs Queen: queen bed, smart tv, adjoining bath with combo tub/shower.
* Loft Area: additional sleeping for 2 in sofa chairs that convert to twin beds (see photos).


More about the layout:
From the front door, you will step into the dining area and a half bath on the left. This leads into the open kitchen and family room with a smart TV and plenty of seating for guests.

Heading outdoor to the covered patio area there is a Green Egg for cookouts and outdoor lounging area at the pool house. The pool house has a half bath for your use.

Pool is a generous size of 24ft X 24ft and has an option to heat in the cooler months. (a fee will apply)

Back inside is a laundry room with washer and dryer for your use.

Parking is available for 3-cars max in front of the home. No street parking.

Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

Beach Gear Included!: This home offers beach gear such as beach chairs and beach towels FREE for your use! Bikes, carts, paddleboards and more are available for rent locally, discount included. There are no fees or surcharges attached to your reservation.

Pets: This is not a pet friendly home.

Heated Pool: This property offers a heated pool option. The cost is $75/night+tax and can be added up to 48 hours before arrival. Let us know if you'd like to heat the pool!

No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.

Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.

No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

Short friends & family getaway

We had a great time with a group of friends and a couple toddlers. The pool was great and the house was immaculate. The beds were so comfortable! The house is a very short drive from the Massengale Park beach access with a playground for the kids. Also a short drive to bars, restaurants and golf. A great time was had by all.

Wonderful House and Location!

The house is wonderful! Very clean and very well stocked. Beds are very comfortable. The location is great...quiet side street...close to the beach, restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor space...plenty of room to set up our corn hole. The owner was quick to respond and he was great to work with!!! I highly recommend staying here! Great house! Definitely would stay here again!

Lovely property

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Ava Mae Cottage. The property is conveniently located and just a short driving distance to Pier Village, beaches and a variety of restaurants and shops. It is spacious and set up well with three bedrooms, each with a private bath. We liked the open concept and modern feel. The pool was a great amenity. We had some minor issues that were taken care of promptly by the very responsive property manager. Highly recommend this property!

An Absolute Peach! Beautiful and Super Clean!

My family and I had such a great time on our short trip to SSI in this beautiful new home. As soon as we walked in the front door and could see that huge pool through the kitchen, I knew we would not want to leave! The kids jumped in the pool immediately, while we relaxed in the comfy lounge area. I did have some work to catch-up on while we were there and I have to say that the high speed internet was lightning fast. We walked to Crab Daddy's for dinner one night. (The Scallops were amazing!) We felt like this home was in just the right spot. Near the beach, restaurants, and the village. Oh, and the beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in while on vacation. The owner was so fast to respond to my questions. We hope to come back soon and stay longer!

Great house w/ super fab pool

Great house with a super fab pool that we paid extra to get heated during our springtime stay. Well worth it. The beds were very comfortable. The house was very clean. We had a few issues during our stay and the manager replied to our requests promptly which i appreciated. Small adjustments in the future would make this experience a 10/10... we have stayed at other rental properties over the years that provided certain things that this house did not, that you might want to just make note of... pool towels, beach chairs, full length mirrors, room & den blankets. Otherwise we loved it! We just know what we need to pack next time.

We didn’t want to leave!

We absolutely loved this home, the pool, the location…it was like a dream. The pool was the selling point for me when I rented the home, I knew we would use it all day everyday and we did! The outdoor areas are perfect for an afternoon nap or dinner after grilling. The rooms are well decorated and so clean. The kitchen had everything we needed for every meal. Zach is a great host and super attentive. We will be coming back here again for sure!!

A Beautiful Property with a Fantastic Pool

This isn’t an ordinary rental house - it’s like staying in a classy new home before the owners move in. The finishes are beautiful, the towels are fluffy, and the beds are comfy. Each bedroom has its own bath, and enough space to actually feel like private suites - you can tell a lot of thought went into the design. The pool is fantastic and we spent many hours escaping the heat in it! The location is also ideal, only a .5mile walk to the beach and about .75mile walk to Frosty’s for shakes. Zach was extremely responsive with the few questions we had, and the pictures 100% show what you are getting. For those reasons, it is a great 5-star rental, and we loved staying in the home! Given all that, there were a few things we found surprising. Mainly, that the pool pump is right next to the main patio, and runs constantly 8am-8pm. It’s a bit louder than an AC unit and unfortunately is 12” from the table… it was loud enough that we found we avoided hanging out or eating any meals on the patio because of the noise. We were also surprised there are no beach towels, glassware, or bikes available. The towels and glasses were only a surprise given the house was otherwise so well appointed. Not having bicycles available is a recent change, and was only disappointing to our group because we had made plans to explore on them. All in all an amazing place to stay.

The location and the pool was fantastic! The rooms were just right for three couples. One room had a Mildewy/dirty shower curtain and a hair dryer that did not work. The place was comfortable, but not as clean as I would’ve hoped. Beyond that, the house was comfortable and the owner was very helpful and friendly.

Lovely home and Immaculately clean

The immaculately clean home is a peaceful place. Something we especially liked was the lack of personalization. It didn’t feel like staying in someone else’s home. There was just the right amount of furniture and not cluttered with nic-nacs. The owner Zack was the best! Thank you again Zack, for allowing us to stay.

Bachelorette Weekend Success!!

Absolute best property for entertaining! Comfortable for the 8 person bridal party with high end mattresses, beautiful baths, stunning pool. Everything we needed was available and property owner was easily accessible for a quick answer. The beach was just a short distance away and not crowded. From check in to check out Zack made it very easy. House is in a great location. Zack was a phone call away if we were to need him. But we didn’t!! Would definitely recommend this beautiful home. We had a blast
