• Based on reviews, we get plenty of repeat guests for the following reasons - The cottage is really just a cozy, peaceful, and rejuvenating place. It’s a great place to unwind in the garden and birdwatch. The studio is well-appointed and extremely comfortable.

• The personal touch. Whenever possible, we personally welcome our guests to the cottage to answer any questions they may have. We also leave freshly baked treats for them to enjoy. We’ve met so many amazing people and we wouldn’t trade it for anything!

• Guests also appreciate the handicapped-accessibility.

Is the area safe?
Yes. It’s in a safe and quiet, residential area. You’ll get plenty of peace and privacy.

The Cunningham Cottage is a labor of love. It was originally nothing more than a 2-car garage. Out of a desire to care for our aging parents, we lovingly built the studio into what it is today. A lot of good memories were made in this home and we hope you can feel traces of that love-filled history during your stay. We look forward to meeting you!

Guest Access:
Before you get here, you'll receive a personalized access code for an effortless self-check-in. You’ll be able to enjoy the entire studio and backyard.

The Neighborhood:
Our cottage is located in a quiet cul-de-sac 8 minutes south of Cox Hospital and 13 minutes from Mercy Hospital. There is easy access to Highway 160 and the James River Expressway. The neighborhood itself is peaceful and quiet and you’ll feel safe enough to stay in the cottage on your own. There are also many local attractions nearby like the Wilson Creek Civil War Battlefield and the Wonders of Wildlife Museum.

Getting Around:
We highly recommend bringing or renting a car for the utmost convenience. However, bus, taxi, and ride-sharing services are also available. The area is pedestrian-friendly as well and riding bikes is also a great way to travel short distances.

» We have two friendly miniature schnauzers that come outdoors but have a perimeter. They can't reach the cottage, but would welcome you to visit them!
