Magic Carpet miniature golf is just around the corner, a short walk from the house. This is entertainment for the family and friends. Magic Carpet Golf features lots of classic mini-golf challenges, and two full courses. It is the perfect complement to outdoor fun. It is open seasonally, April through October (weather permitting) since 1971, with a snack bar and a video game arcade.
The Hanger (https://www.thehangarlaketahoe.com) is a casual brewery that features 30+ craft beers on tap and an outdoor area with picnic tables, games, food trucks, and dog parks. It is walking distance from the house and you can easily hear the concerts while sitting on the back deck. (Double pane windows shield those inside the house from most of the music and it is required by City Law to be discontinued at 10:00 pm.) Check their website for bands and schedule information.
Other Music Venues:
Music is available at Heavenly Village or on weekends on the beach at the Beacon Restaurant at Camp Richardson. During the evening, musical performances can be viewed at many venues with a variety of genres to select from, including recording artists and magicians at Harrahâs Lake Tahoe, Golden Nugget Hotel, Harveyâs Outdoor Theater, and Ballyâs Hotel in South Lake Tahoe. Tuesday nights a blues band provides free entertainment in Harrah's.
Whiskey Dickâs (Hours: 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM) is a local favorite. It is a dimly lit âjointâ with an edgy vibe featuring a full bar and a small stage featuring karaoke and a lineup of live bands.
Bike Trails:
The South Lake Tahoe bike trails provide a self-guided adventure with no shortage of places to visit while walking or riding a bike. The trail passes seven public beaches between the Stateline corridor and the Camp Richardson area â each with restrooms and some with food and beverages.
At the end of the street, there is a tributary of the Truckee River that flows to the lake year around. On the other side of the bridge is a few acres that were recently converted to a greenbelt area with benches for lounging.
Bicyclists that are more adventurous have access to a wide variety of mountain bike trails, such as the Bijou Bike Park. It is located at the Bijou Community Park and has all the park amenities, including pump tracks, BMX racetrack, jumps, and skills course.

Hot August Nights (July 31 to August 9). returns to Reno-Sparks for its 40th Anniversary celebration from July 31 to August 9, 2026. The 10-day event features 6,000 classic vehicles (1979 or older), free nightly concerts, Show-n-Shines, drag races, swap meets, and the Motorsport Auction Group (MAG) collector car auction.
