We stayed for a week at Skip’s cottage in August ‘25. We had the most wonderful and memorable vacation. Skip’s cottage is such a hidden gem! If you are considering, it’s a must! Nestled in the gorgeous and picturesque Rhode Island town of Jerusalem. We loved sitting on the deck every night watching the boats come in, and walking to several beaches, all within a few minutes, every morning. Skip’s cottage is equipped with everything you need for your stay, sheets and towels, laundry detergent and soap, down to the spices you may need when staying in to cook a meal. I can’t say enough about how the lovely accommodations, the thoughtful homeowners, and amazing and unforgettable area of Jerusalem/Narragansett. We stayed with our two young boys, and this area offers plenty to do and see. If you are looking for a beautiful beach town, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist traps, look no further, and book your stay here at skips cottage! You won’t regret it!

A Little Piece of Paradise...

It is hard to put into words how much we enjoyed our stay at Skip's Cottage. It was a truly unique vacation experience offering a bit of everything. The location, the house, the people make this a truly special place to stay. Whether you are enjoying the completely modern, coastal interior, or the truly scenic, New England exterior, this place just hits it out of the park! Relaxing on the deck and watching the boats and ferry go by while listening to live music from the restaurants across the water is an amazing way to end the day. Jerusalem is rustic and laid back compared to larger RI beach enclaves, but the house is close to beach, restaurants, and even has a small coffee shop right outside the door for simple convenience. Ed and Mary could not have been more friendly and accommodating. They worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved Skip's Cottage and definitely plan to return.

Clean2storycottage near coffee shop

Very clean newly renovated two story cottage with very comfortable beds and plenty of room. Lots of closets and bureaus. Decorated very nicely. You have to be comfortable with stairs since both bedrooms and main bathroom are upstairs. No privacy since coffee shop with picnic tables are in front of your deck ( that opens at 7:00) along with a small gift shop and owner’s house is adjacent to the cottage. Beach is an easy 1 minute drive and admission cost isn’t bad.( $6 for seniors)

Perfection

After all the rating questions are answered , a personal view makes all the difference in the world to those who have not yet experienced this property. And never mind all the hoopla generally associated with divine vacation spots...here's the bottom line : Yes, it's a beautiful, clean property in a very unique setting, but it's the FEEL that will compel you both to rent the first time then come back for more...sitting on your own porch, facing the warmth of the morning sun, gentle harbor breeze, aroma of the salt water, hearing the gulls chew each other out while watching myriad fishing and pleasure craft go by as the tide rises and falls, enjoying your first cup of the day.....folks, it just doesn't get any better than that.

Perfect spot

It is just a lovely place to get away. Cottage has everything you need if you want to stay in for dinner. If you are lucky, there is live music playing from across the marina to add to the ambiance while dining on the deck. East Matanuck beach is beautiful and very clean. We are family of four (2 teens) and everyone had enough space and activites nearby for differing interests.

Just loved the view!!

Such a beautiful home for the four of us. We wish we could have stayed longer. It was a great location to watch the boats go by. Our hosts Ed and Mary couldn’t have been more pleasant and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back!!

5 stars aren’t enough

We had an absolutely amazing vacation and Skip’s Cottage was the star. Everything was perfect from the location to the decor. We spent more time just hanging out at the cottage than we ever have at a vacation rental. The balcony off of the master bedroom was the perfect size for our two chairs and sitting there just watching the boats go by and all of the seagulls, ducks, and herons was pure joy. The most relaxing vacation ever. The beach that is about a three minute walk from the cottage was perfect
we had many wonderful walks on the beach. Having the gift shop and cafe just steps from our front door was great too and also Jim’s Dock just a few minutes walk away for dinner was also so handy. Ed and his wife were wonderful hosts. The community was quiet and quaint. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend Skip’s Cottage. You won’t find a more perfect vacation rental.
