The Space:

Inspired by the calm yet lively charm of the lake itself, this recently built home has been lovingly furnished by a family passionate about sharing the magic of South Haven. Here, the "Lake Affect" isn’t just a name—it’s a feeling.



The open-concept main floor embodies the Lake Affect, inviting families and friends to come together in a space filled with natural light and thoughtful design. Whether you’re brewing your morning coffee at the kitchen island, which comfortably seats four, or preparing snacks while sharing stories, every moment here feels effortless and connected. When it’s time to gather for a meal, the expandable dining table becomes the perfect spot for laughter and shared memories, accommodating everyone in your family.



The main floor is also home to the luxuries of the Master King Suite, featuring soft and welcoming bedding that invites you to sink into comfort after a day by the water. Tastefully decorated to reflect the relaxed and breezy Lake Life mentality, the space is filled with soft blues and thoughtful accents inspired by the shores of Lake Michigan. Around the corner, you’ll find the Family Suite, thoughtfully designed to accommodate families, kids, or groups of all sizes. This inviting room features a comfortable king-sized bed, offering a restful retreat for parents or adults, alongside a fun and functional bunk bed that kids or additional guests will love.



But the Lake Affect isn’t limited to the walls of our home. Step outside and discover the neighborhood’s heated pool, open Memorial Day through Labor Day, and an amenity-packed clubhouse that includes ping pong for some friendly competition.



Bring your bikes and hit the Van Buren Trail, winding through the neighborhood and offering scenic routes to South Haven’s iconic dunes, beaches, and bustling downtown. Just a few blocks away you'll find the Blue Stairs at Kid’s Corner Park - Leading to the famous South Beach of South Haven. Here, hours of lakeside fun await - Splash in the waves, lounge in the sand under the sun, and soak in the simple joys of the shoreline.

The Neighborhood:

The Trailside community offers the perfect mix of convenience and relaxation, just minutes from Downtown South Haven and Lake Michigan. Enjoy the heated community pool (open Memorial Day through Labor Day) or challenge friends to ping pong in the clubhouse lounge. For outdoor enthusiasts, Trailside sits along the Van Buren Trail, providing access to scenic bike paths that showcase Michigan’s natural beauty. It’s the ideal base for lakeside fun, downtown charm, and outdoor adventures.



Other Things to Note:

Parking: 1 Vehicle next to the garage. Street parking is available along Cable Street by the front porch, except from November 15 - April 15 to allow for plowing. Additional parking is available at the Clubhouse across the street.

*Lake Affect shares its driveway with the neighbor, please do not block neighbor's access and adhere to our guidelines.

Pets: Pets are not allowed at our home.

Beach Access: Blue Stairs Beach is only a 10-minute walk away.

Community Amenities: Heated Community Swimming Pool & Clubhouse is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

* Use of the pool is limited to guests staying at Lake Affect, no additional guests are allowed.

Your Shores Vacation Rentals team are local area experts who know all of the ins and outs of our beautiful homes in South Haven.



We're available in-person Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, to assist guests in planning their South Haven vacation and providing insider tips for an authentic local experience.



For our incoming guests:



Prior to your arrival you will receive all pertinent check-in information communicated via email and mobile SMS messaging, as well as a local destination guide with our personal recommendations on local eats and activities in the area.



We provide an after-hours emergency phone number to call in case an issue arises outside of our standard business hours. Additionally, we provide you with a mobile SMS number that you can text for non-emergency issues.
