At the Oakland South, you’ll find 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, private parking, lots of space, and a fresh, cozy interior- all just steps from North Beach!

Check out our last remaining summer 2026 openings (as of March 2026). If you don’t see the dates you’re interested in, please inquire! Sometimes there is flexibility with our bookings or ask to be put on our waitlist!

About The Oakland South
This historic vacation rental sits one block from gorgeous North Beach and its family friendly playground & concessions. Located in historic Monroe Park, our place boasts four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, loads of living space, lake views to the west and a beautifully appointed kitchen with marina views to the east. Sit on the front patio and enjoy people watching and sunsets on the lake. Grill on the private deck, play yard games on a soft green lawn, and watch boats pass by from the back yard.

The entire home and private deck are yours to enjoy. The front & back lawns and the front patio are common areas shared with our neighbors and their guests at the Oakland North. There are two dedicated off-street parking spaces for this unit.

Stephanie made every effort to make us comfortable . The house had lots of extras that we didn't expect but very much appreciated. There were extra blankets, sheets, and pillows.The layout of the house created an easy area for the ten of us to hang out. Kitchen, dining area, and family room together are huge and we could all be together when we wanted.

WOW! Everything is just as it's pictured. We had an excellent time, walked on the beach, walked into town, enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, and games at the large table with 6 of us was awesome. The bedrooms are all great, beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms for each couple worked well. Parking was perfect, and for those of you who bike. There were two paths you could get to right from the house. Van Buren path and the Kal-Haven path. We biked them both, and returning to the house each day was perfect. Can't say enough positive points. We hope we can work out a plan to return.

Fantastic family beach vacation

Our three generation family spent a wonderful week at this lovely renovated beach house. It’s a short block to both the beach and the river. It’s well laid out with plenty of seating and very well provisioned with cleaning supplies, paper products dish ware, games, and toys. The owner was very thoughtful and responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property. Incredible location. The pictures don’t do it justice this property has everything you need. We had the best family getaway. We enjoyed morning walks to the beach, coffee on the back porch and sunset views on the front porch. This property is close to everything. You can walk to the beach and to town in minutes. We’ve been coming to South Haven for years and this was by far our favorite stay!

Had the best weekend getaway with the girls. This house had everything we need to make the best birthday ever. The beach was super close and even though it was too cold to enjoy, looking out the front window at the beautiful sunset made us feel like it was a beach weekend. House was perfect!

It was a wonderful location, close to everything and yet quiet. We had plenty of room for our 5 adults and two children. We loved how easy it was to get to the beach and appreciated the beach chairs and sand toys. The kitchen had what we needed to cook and loved having a grill and large deck with a table.

Fabulous!

The property was laid out beautifully with the bedroom and a full bath on the main floor for my elderly mother and the upstairs accommodations were beautiful and fit our family well. The kitchen was gorgeous and roomy, and the gathering spaces around the extra large dining table and the sectional was perfect for everyone. we will definitely book again

Great location, very close to North Beach. Loved that there was parking for two cars in the lot outback. The gas grill was nice for cooking out and the kitchen was great and fully stocked for making meals. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!!

Family Vacation and Birthday Celebration

What a perfect place to get our family together and celebrate our parent's 70th birthdays! The house was PERFECT! Wonderful location, and had everything we could possibly need. Grandparents, kids and grandkids all had a wonderful time. We can't wait to come back.
