The Hideaway- Walk to DT, Hike to the Lake!

Summary:
Welcome to The Hideaway: a 700 sqft cabin in the West Village of Shaver Lake. One of the original Shaver Lake cabins built in the 1930s!

The Space:
An original Shaver Lake cabin, The Hideaway is quaint in size, with one main living space, two small bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, dining space, and bathroom. You'll love hanging out in the mountain air outside on the upper and lower decks, around the fire pit, BBQing, and hanging out at the picnic table under the cafe lights. The fireplace inside is easily workable with an on/off switch and heats the whole cabin! The cabin is a quick 5-minute WALK to town, easy for any ability level- from kids to grandparents! Right behind the cabin, you'll find a small stream in the spring and summer, and a hill perfect for sledding and snow play through the winter months! 5-10 minute drive to the lake, 25-30 minute drive to China Peak Ski Resort.  Parking for 1-2 cars and a boat in the summer.

The fireplace is not available for the rest of the summer.

This cabin does not have AC.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire property, including the fire pit and snow hill. There is an easement just below the cabin that can be used for extra parking or boat parking during the summer months. During the snow months, it is too risky to park there as it does not get plowed. Depending on the snow level, some other areas may be inaccessible depending on your ability level, including the fire pit, parking space, and walking trails.

The Neighborhood:
The cabin is located in the West Village, walking distance to Mountain Tripper, The Trading Post restaurant, Shaver Lake Bakery and Deli, Shaver Lake Pizza, and various trailheads. Drive to the lake, playground, library, waterfalls, and other attractions! The West Village is known for its proximity to downtown, friendly atmosphere, and walkable neighborhood. You're likely to see wildlife from squirrels and birds to deer roaming around behind the cabin. Lately, there have been black bears spotted nearby as well.

Getting Around:
We suggest getting around with your own vehicle. However, this property is walking distance to downtown Shaver Lake. During the winter months, you'll likely need snow chains if there's snow in the forecast.

Other Things to Note:
Though it sleeps plenty, our cabin is small. Please read the whole description and look at the pictures before booking. “Love grows best in little houses just like this”. We think max 4 adults and 2 children would be comfortable.

We do NOT allow pets, parties, smoking, or drugs.

There are many critters native to Shaver Lake, including raccoons, bears, insects, snakes, rodents, and more.

During the winter months, tire chains are required to travel up the 4-lane to Shaver Lake. If you are traveling in the snow season, make sure you have correctly fitting tire chains and know how to install them.
The fireplace is not available for the rest of the summer.
