Welcome to Mountaineer House! This massive 8 bedroom, 9 full bath plus 1 half bathroom cabin has its own PRIVATE HEATED INDOOR POOL, hot tub, spacious outdoor gazebo, large game room and entertainment area. With a fully stocked kitchen, this cabin provides the perfect home away from home. Conveniently located and a short drive from Dollywood and downtown Gatlinburg, this cabin is the perfect destination for a family or friend getaway!

I can begin commenting on our experience at this large cabin by saying the Host was incredibly accommodating. I do not recall anytime since booking our stay to the end of Travis not responding within a half hour timeframe. Our stay was during Thanksgiving week so we had a few questions and requests. I was concerned about the trash due to our large group but that was always resolved with a little planning on our part and an early email to our host. This cabin without question from taking our walks has the best fitted outside area for grilling, cooking, or watching the football games around the fireplace. It was well lit and fitted for all of anyone's needs. We used the kitchen quite a bit as you can imagine and it was great having the outside grill to help complete our large meals! We even used the flat grill for making our pancakes outside, it was just a great experience with the family. Travis thank you for meeting all of our needs and we hope to be back again before Thanksgiving and enjoy more walks through the hills.

Unfortunately our stay was not ideal. I’ll start by saying Travis was quick to respond to my emails, but unfortunately didn’t follow through on some issues. Main one being the main floor never cooling properly. I realize it was in the 90s during our stay, but we shouldn’t be required to “wait until the evening “ for it to cool down. Pretty uncomfortable and humid and made it quite difficult for my dad with COPD to breathe. I would say do not come during the summer because the house does not have big enough hvac and isn’t properly insulated to cool house. Ice maker was not working and Travis said he would send a technician, but never did. We had to purchase multiple bags of ice. Dishwasher is not attached to the counter, so it’s falling out when you open it. Outside furniture is quite dirty. Indoor pool was freezing ( supposed to be heated , but wasn’t) it was hot out but water was FREEZING. Refrigerator is missing all but one door shelf, limiting storage in an already small refrigerator for an 8 bedroom home. Looks like the blinds in living room melted due to heat? I’d recommend Travis or whoever owns this home to make a visit. It needs some TLC to be up to the standard for what you are charging. I just want to give a heads up for anyone looking to rent this home
 it’s not worth the price.

Wish this cabin was ours!!

The cabin has everything anyone would want! Communications with owner was wonderful. We left a bag and they FedEx it to us upon our request. The cabin is clean and in a great location no matter where you are going. Will stay again!!

The property looks exactly like the pictures. We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The host was very responsive to all of our questions before, and even during our stay. This cabin was a ten out of ten. We would definitely rent this cabin again. Thank you to our host before being great.

This was a nice, spacious home. It was very clean and is well maintained. It had all of the necessary amenities and then some. It was a great value for the price. Our family of 13 felt very comfortable in this home. We would stay with this host again in the future.

Property listing is exact. We loved the space. The only suggestions I have is to add shelving to the showers and to add more trash bins given the size and amount pf people it holds. We would definitely rent again!

Annual Retired Firefighters Vacation

Our retired firefighter group truly enjoyed our stay at this location. Our host answered all of our requests in a timely manner. Location was ok and was very clean. Looking forward to our stay next year.

Great Vacation

The cabin was as advertised. Very large and comfortable bedrooms, living spaces and porches. The pool was a great bonus. Each room has a private bath that is very nice. The communication with the host was excellent. We will stay here again.

The property was fully stocked with everything that we needed to cook indoor and outdoors. The property appeared to be new construction. It was very spacious but in a community with other cabins which was comforting. While we were on the mountaintop we could see others. The kitchen was basic but the outdoor patio was epic!! The game area was not impressive. The bedrooms were very spacious with bathroom. Plenty of parking and the host was on constant communication with us and checking to make sure everything was OK. The downfall was we were about 20min from Walmart and other entertainment of you get a chance Jayells Ranch it had everything and was maybe 10-15 min away. ATV, Zipline, horse back riding and more. If you chose this location you would not be disappointed.

Great Smokey Adventure

Everything was great! I was concerned there wouldn’t be enough pots and pans to cook for our group of 21 so we brought some but the house was better stocked than other reviews say. It’s a great place!

Weekend Family Getaway

My family & I had a great stay at this cabin. We loved the heated pool & hot tub. The bedrooms are spacious & our group of 16 had plenty of room. The kids & adults loved the game room & the outdoor grill & kitchen area is lovely. Upon check-in I reached out to the host to inform him that one of the toilets in one of the king bedrooms would not flush in hopes that someone would come out to fix it during our stay but unfortunately I think it was just noted & we had to make due the entire weekend with our guest in that room using other bathrooms which was a bit inconvenient considering we booked mainly for each couple to have their own room/bathroom. One recommendation would be to add a place for guests to place their soap/body wash in the shower, we had to place ours on the floor as there was nothing to set anything on in the shower. Overall the cabin is as advertised and in a great neighborhood around other cabins not too high up the mountain with adequate parking for our 4 vehicles.

Price to high for lack of amenities available

For the price and the size of this cabin, the rental lacks many amenities. During the holiday season when you rent a cabin that have occupancy for More than 10 you expect to have th basic in a kitchen like a blender. Cooking spoons, pots large enough to make rice. I had to visit the local walmart to purchase these items. I understood that basic amenities like paper, toilet paper, body soap, dishwashing soap and things like that I would have to supply but not blankets or throws. We had to go buy 4 additional blankets bc the cabin was cold and we could not change the temp in the cabin. The cost of this cabin does not match the value. By the way if you rent this cabin bring a soap dispenser or soap holder the showers do not have a place to put these items
