Not Worth the Hassle

As other reviews have stated, the number of beds in this house does not match what's described in the listing. We were a group traveling for business and staying in houses due to a lack of hotels in the area, all adults that wouldn't be appropriate to share beds, so this left us needing to book a second house. There was no communication from the homeowner whatsoever leading up to our stay, and I didn't get check-in instructions until I called the night before asking what they were. When I called, the homeowner didn't seem to know about our reservation..."who are you, what property, when are you getting there, when are leaving? Okay, yeah I'll send it over." was pretty much the extent of the conversation. As other reviews have also stated, there were a lack of towels in the house. I again tried to call the homeowner to ask about towels and bring up the lack of beds compared to listing, but it went straight to voicemail. A while later I got a text that said the house sleeps 12 and there are more towels in the master bedroom. Overall, this house would probably be fine for a small group that isn't going to care as much about a lack of bed or towels, as the property itself was just fine, but for larger groups, or groups that appreciate thorough communication, this is not the property for you.

Good but some issues.

The place was nice and comfortable for our large group, the only complaint we have is our trip got double booked. So during our stay we had strangers knocking at the door, saying they also were staying at this location. It was an unneeded stress added to our trip, they need to have better communication and acknowledgment.

Poor communication & wifi

The house overall was nice, however, bathroom was dirty when we arrived & all towels were still wet in dryer. No big deal at first. Wifi in this area & signal in general is really bad (like can’t work from a laptop bag). There also isn’t a grocery store or restaurant beyond dollar general for 30 minutes. Again, not a huge deal. What I have a problem with is communication from the customer property manager. We left early due our festival cancelling & I reached out on the Vrbo app & through text without a response. Again, not a huge deal until I get a text a week later at 11pm accusing us of breaking an upper story window that a human could not reach without a ladder. Now I’m upset & would not recommend this property or manager.

Good Location/Property In Need of Maintenance/Cleaning

We loved the location/setting, but wasn’t totally satisfied with the property. The bedroom information is incorrect. There are not enough beds for 12 people to sleep(which our group had), luckily we brought an air mattress with us. There is one king bed, one queen bed, 1 full bed, 1 twin over full bunk, and one futon. The beds were not comfortable. There were not enough towels to cover all of us, maybe 10, if that. Personal opinion here, but I believe there should be two towels per person the house sleeps. The house wasn’t as clean as what you would think it should be as a rental. Food and worms were left in the refrigerators, toilet bowls had rings on them like they hadn’t been cleaned in a bit, floors weren’t clean. The dock was not clean at all and definitely in need of some upkeep. There were spiders everywhere and we understand the setting will allow bugs, but it doesn’t look like the dock has been cleaned in a long while. The steps and ladder are covered in algae which makes it slick getting in and out of the lake. There is at least one rotting board on the dock and the steps into the lake are starting to rot. We met the neighbors next door and they were great. We were there for the lake so that part of it we enjoyed. We were told where to put the trash, but not when the trash ran and there weren’t enough trash cans at the end of the driveway to hold the trash so we fit it the best we could. The house/dock could be great with some more maintenance and upkeep.

Nice place

A bit hard to find, the house number at the end of the drive was laying on the ground. Only complaints: the blinds overlooking the deck fall off the hooks when opening them. The upstairs bathroom door is falling off its hinges and the upstairs bath tub drains VERY slowly. Better have 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway in the deep gravel! We did. The place is clean, quiet, remote and very peaceful. It was cold and rainy while we were there so we didn’t get to enjoy the deck or dock.

Hyco fishing trip

We had a great stay at the property. The house was in nice condition. The only downside was the lack of parking and the wet front yard. This made it hard to have 2 trucks with 2 boats but we managed. Other than that everything was good.

Connor’s place was amazing!

We decided to book this place and commute for our job and booking multiple hotel rooms. It worked out great. The house was thoughtfully furnished and we enjoyed our downtime much more than in a hotel. I would love to visit with my family in the near future.
