The Space:

This 3-bedroom, 2-bath coastal retreat offers a calm, uncluttered setting to unwind between ocean walks and sunset watching. Three queen bedrooms comfortably host up to six guests, and the oceanfront setting brings the sights and sounds of the Pacific into your stay.

Step outside to relax in the hot tub after a day of exploring, then fire up the outdoor BBQ and gather on the patio seating. Inside, a stereo system lets you set the mood for cozy evenings together. You’ll also have access to Sea Ranch communal amenities—including pools and tennis courts—and an EV charger located in the garage. The home is solar-equipped and powered by renewable energy.

‱ Communal amenities: The Del Mar Recreation Center (pools and saunas) and other Sea Ranch facilities are within a short drive. Access and availability are subject to the community’s rules and schedules.

‱ Exterior security: There is an exterior camera on the patio facing the trash enclosure.

First, the property is excellent. We are picky, and it was very clean and well maintained. The property was actually better than the VRBO description and pics. We are frequent VRBO customers, and that is a rarity. The issue is with the property manager. While we were there, construction was happening right next door (50ft away). We go to Sea Ranch to escape noise and enjoy the peace. The property manager has a responsibility to know what is happening in and around the property that may impact the renters' stay. When asked for assistance, we were told we were on our own to contact Sea Ranch and deal with any sound issues. However, quiet hours are 9pm to 7am. So, when the construction hammering, sawing and grinding started at 7am, there is nothing that could be done about it. My issue is that this is bait and switch - and really bad business. Our guests in the back two bedrooms had no choice but to awaken at 7am. Then, we had to listen to hammering, sawing, grinding until 6pm. Ugh!

Such a beautiful house and a stunning location. The hot tub was gross when we arrived & they sent a team out quickly to drain, clean & refill it & it heated up quickly enough for us to go in that day! Access was easy with a lock box on the front door & my friend even charged his Tesla in the garage! It was a bit stuffy in the home, the air conditioning was needed and was not very effective & there was no breeze & no fans. I bet if I had asked for some fans they would have brought us some. The patios are super tiny, not sure why. The kitchen is beautiful, well appointed, & so much fun to cook in! We had some wonderful home made meals. Walking along the path just outside the back door was so much fun. Beaches & tidepools were explored & interactions with neighbors & walkers were had. A photographer let us see his photos of whales breaching, we saw seals, starfish, deer, & a giant raccoon on the back porch! Great weekend with friends!! Thank you!!

Loved this house! Design is modern and classic to Sea Ranch at the same time. Has all the amenities you’d hope for- a cook’s kitchen outfitted with all the cookware you’d expect., the best combined dining/ living area to lounge in. We cooked all our meals here. It’s also just steps off of the Bluff Trail with killer ocean views. I would definitely come back! The downsides are - poor primary suite mattress (as other reviews mention) and limited outdoor lounging. But the indoors and panoramic windows are pretty perfect and makes up for the lack of deck space.

An amazing place!

This was our fourth rental at Sea Ranch and our first right on the coast. The stormy waves were LOUD, but we really enjoyed this different and up-close vantage on the sea. The house is spacious and spectacular, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the beds were comfortable. We hope to come back!

Wonderful location

We have stayed in multiple places in Sea Ranch over the years. This place was top notch with its location and views. Close to Del Mar center. Right on the walking paths. Beautiful views from every room. Kitchen was great and fully stocked with equipment. Loved the big couch and family room. Only issue were all the beds were queen size. The master mattress was also very firm so I didn’t get the best sleep. But 10/10 everywhere else.

Beautiful home, beautiful setting ! January on the coast is quiet and solitary- except for the wild windy and rainy weather ! Not a problem while staying here. Cozy fireplace, ocean view, well equipped kitchen, and comfortable furniture all made for a wonderful relaxing getaway.

Beautiful home in amazing location

We booked the place for 4 nights. The owners should consider using a local person to manage their property because we will not be coming back and will not be renting another house using this property management company. Pros: The location was great and the house was nice. The kitchen was fully stocked. Cons: We got there 2 hours early and were told to wait in Gualala for the packet. We did drive to the rental and noticed nobody was there but the management company said the house wasn’t ready. We then were told after 4pm that the packet was in the house. So now we were already not happy and we get in the house and it’s hot, you can tell nobody has been in there for days and we could have checked in a little early. The floors were a bit dusty, there was a clump of soap or something in the sink. The house is bare bones-hardly anything on the walls, no throw blankets for the couch on a rainy day,and everything was so minimal. The beds were old and springy and you only get one pillow per person and one towel. The bedding was too basic and hardly big enough for 2 people. Bring your own toilet paper and everything else-it falls off when you try to use it. The bathroom amenities were that of a motel 6. Don’t use the shower gel or shampoo-smelled like dollar store to me. You only get a cheap tiny thing of dish soap that barely works and one extra garbage bag.

Pelicans Landing

Had a great couple of nights at pelicans Landing. The views were spectacular. Just steps from the 3 mile Bluff Trail. Will definitely rent again when in the area.

Birthday week

We had a fantastic stay in a great house in the most magical location. All things about the house were great, so was the kitchen. It was sufficiently equipped, however, basic staples were missing. It would be nice if there was, some oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, mustard, sugar and some spices. Fortunately, that was not enough to put us in a bad mood. Hopefully we will be back. Thanks!

Beautiful property

Highly recommend the house!! However, had an issue with the management group, Grand Welcome. Note that if you book through them, you will have to drive to their office to pick up and return the keys, which adds a lot of time and mileage to your trip. Moreover, the check out time was at 10, which is much earlier than most. I would totally rent the house again, but couldn't give it 5 stars due to the above. Would prefer a lock box to go in and an 11-12 check out time.
