Pelicans glide past the windows, and on clear days the horizon feels infinite.
The Space:
Surrounded by redwoods and in a quiet neighborhood, the Coastal Cabin offers a pleasant space to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Don't forget to bring your hiking shoes, as numerous trailheads are a short drive away, including the Gualala Bluff Trail, Gualala River Redwood Park, and Bower Park.
Sun-soaked and happy, head back inside the open interior of your stay. Whip up something delicious in the well-equipped kitchen amongst the vintage fridge and ample meal prep space. (This home is not equipped with a garbage disposal.) Later, gather on the comfortable seating in the living room for a movie night. Eclectic and fun, the bedrooms offer inviting areas to rest your head each evening. A mini-split unit provides heat and air-conditioning.
As the stars begin to fill the night sky, head outside and indulge in a gooey s'more prepared over the warmth of the firepit.

This home welcomes up to 2 dogs -- the yard and nearby trails are ready for your pup. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival. As a guest, you also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities including the pools, tennis courts, fitness center, and miles of trails. A recreation pass will be provided.
The Neighborhood:
Stretching along ten miles of the Sonoma Coast, The Sea Ranch offers a rare blend of coastal wilderness and thoughtfully designed homes. Nearby highlights include community heated pool (North) (2-minute drive), Shell Beach tidepools (4-minute drive), The Sea Ranch Lodge restaurant, lounge and café (4-minute drive). Explore over Sea Ranch's 50 miles of trails, discover tidepools at low tide, swim in heated community pools, and end the day with dinner at The Sea Ranch Lodge. Stock up in Gualala, just 10 minutes south, where you'll find grocery stores, restaurants, a hardware store, and gas. Bodega Bay is a beautiful drive for fresh seafood.

The drive from San Francisco is approximately 2.5 hours via Highway 101 to Highway 1. Fly into Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa, about 1.5 hours east, and rent a car. The Highway 1 drive along the coast is spectacular and worth building into your travel day.
Other Things to Note:
Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.
Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.
Whale watching season runs from December through April -- grab the binoculars and watch for gray whale spouts from your window. Spring (April-June) brings a wildflower show across the coastal meadows -- lupine, poppies, and iris paint the landscape. Summer (June-September) brings the warmest days and longest light. Morning fog is common along the coast -- it usually burns off by midday.
Up to 2 dogs are welcome. Please keep dogs on leash on trails and clean up after them.
Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.
