Snuggle up on the large, comfy couch while reading or watching your favorite show on a rainy day. The well-equipped kitchen will allow the chef in your group to prepare delicious meals. There will be plenty of sleeping options for your whole group. Beyond the backyard, you will find a grove of cypress trees where an occasional Kite Hawk may be watching the meadow. Deer will often visit right outside to graze. Whether you choose to spend your days jogging on the Bluff Trail or enjoying the outdoor heated pool, tennis courts, and saunas at the Del Mar Recreation Center up the road, you'll always come home to a private washer/dryer for your clothes and swimsuits.

THINGS TO KNOW
Guests will have access to all three recreation centers in Sea Ranch. The recreation centers are Del Mar (north), Moonraker (south), and Ohlson (midway). Del Mar has a large heated outdoor pool, two tennis courts, and saunas. Moonraker has a small heated outdoor pool, a tennis/pickleball court, and saunas. Ohlson has a large heated outdoor pool, saunas, three tennis courts, a half-basketball court, and a volleyball court. The amenities pass allows for six guests at a time. If you have more than six guests in your party and everyone wants to use the amenities at the same time, you will need to purchase a day pass from the HOA. They are $5/guest per day.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.



Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

We headed to Sea Ranch with our family for the first time Christmas week. Unfortunately the weather was not the best in CA, nothing to do with the house, however we did lose power for at least 12 hrs. The house was not well equipped for a power outage. We could not find matches, limited candles and flashlights. We had to head into Gualala for supplies. More supplies would have be helpful. As for the house, it was deceiving to me that the 3rd bedroom is actually a detached "in-law" suite. If my children were small, we never would have been able to leave them over in that room apart for the main house, and I would not have wanted them up in the loft. I think the wording on the description should be clear that it is a separate building. The kitchen needs a through organization. We were constantly searching for items and there seemed to be little organization to everything and too much stuff in the cabinets. Some lights and light switches did not work. The gas grills need to be replaced, they are in poor condition. The hot tubs were nice. Newer ping pong paddles and balls would be helpful and the garage that we had to play in was not very clean, but there was wood for the hot stove. The communication was quick prior to the trip, even for a holiday, except I asked if there was a slow cooker and it was reported no, when actually there was one. The location was nice; we loved Sea Ranch and the trails. There are definitely ways to improve this home.

Reset retreat

We are locals from this area. All of us grew up here. We checked in when its was raining fairly hard. The ceiling has been leaking obviously for years. It was dripping in the living room area and down the walls. It was reported, but the pictures wouldn’t send. We thought since there is a wood burning stove, there would be firewood so we could use it. No one got back to us after we asked about the firewood situation. We read the binder to find out wood isn’t provided. Had we known that, we would have brought our own. The vacuum closet has damp rid packs because of the roof leaks and is moldy. The carpet in the bedroom should be cleaned. There were only 3 coffee filters and there aren’t very many cooking utensils. One of the blenders is broken. It’s a very nice house, but could use some thought and a review of things people need like ziplock bags for example. If you advertise the house for a large group maybe consider larger bowls, pots and pans.

Bueatiful house in need of upkeep

The house is beautiful with a lovely garden. Other than the stove, there are issues with many of the appliances and outlets and the house is missing standard things like can openers. We would definitely love to stay again though!

Wonder largeful house for a reunion

Seven of us converged for a 50th reunion of our first meeting in college. Urban escape had as good a layout for a larger group like ours as you will find at The Sea Ranch. Everything was ready for us on arrival. The house was clean and the kitchen well stocked. Both hot tubs worked like a charm. Really could not ask for more. This property is managed by V*A*C*A*S*A. They handled all the site logistics and have their own booking service as well.

Nice Home but not managed by owners

We had reserved this home for a celebration of our son’s 40th birthday but 4 days before arrival we had a terrible slide on our road and are still not able to get out. I spent 3 frantic days seeing if we could reschedule our stay since I saw plenty of availability but no one answered my messages. There is no way to get a message to the owners and vacasa never even tried. The day before we were to arrive they answered and said it was too late to change the dates. As an owner of vacation rentals I have and do make allowances for my guests in case of a true emergencies , but vacasa would not even try. We were not asking for a refund but just to come a little later since there was a lot of availability. When you rent from Vacasa you are renting from a corporation, and corporations do not have hearts. Our son and his family were able to go and enjoy the home which was very nice, but my husband and I missed our son’s 40th birthday and were not able to celebrate with him. VRBO is supposed to be rentals by owner, but that is not the case and the name is very deceptive. I will never rent from VRBO or Vacasa again.
