The Space:

Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or a coastal escape filled with beach walks, history and fresh sea air, you’ll find everything you need for a memorable stay.



Set within one of Scarborough’s most atmospheric areas, the property places you within easy walking distance of both North Bay and South Bay beaches, the seafront, and the iconic Scarborough Castle. The surrounding streets are full of character, with independent cafés, traditional pubs and local shops just a short stroll away.



Inside, the accommodation offers a warm and welcoming space designed for comfort after a day of exploring. The living area provides a relaxing spot to unwind, with comfortable seating ideal for watching TV, reading, or planning the next day’s adventures. Whether you’re returning from the beach, the castle, or a scenic coastal walk, it’s a cosy place to settle in and relax.



The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for preparing breakfasts, light lunches or relaxed evening meals, giving you the flexibility to dine in whenever you choose. It’s a practical and comfortable space that suits both short stays and longer visits.



Both bedrooms offer guests a restful night’s sleep, featuring comfortable beds which are dressed in fresh, quality linens.

The bathroom is modern and well maintained, with a walk in shower as well as a bath tub for guests to relax and unwind in. Fresh towels and bedding are included to ensure a smooth and stress-free stay from the moment you arrive.



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the full house from the assigned check in time.



Access to the house is via a key safe box. Further instructions will be provided prior to check-in.



One small dog is welcome to stay at the Sea View Cottage.



The Neighborhood:

St Mary’s Walk is ideally located in the heart of Scarborough’s historic Old Town, an area rich in character, heritage and coastal charm. The neighbourhood is known for its narrow streets, period buildings and traditional seaside atmosphere, offering guests a real sense of Scarborough’s history while being close to all the main attractions.



Just a short stroll away is Scarborough Castle, dramatically positioned on the headland with sweeping views over both the North Bay and South Bay. The surrounding area is filled with independent shops, cafés, tearooms and traditional pubs, many of which serve locally sourced food and fresh seafood. The Old Town is also home to small art galleries and antique shops, making it ideal for guests who enjoy exploring on foot.



Both North Bay and South Bay beaches are within easy walking distance. North Bay is quieter and popular with walkers and families, while South Bay offers the classic seaside experience with amusements, restaurants and a lively promenade. Peasholm Park, a beautifully landscaped oriental-style park, is also nearby and perfect for a peaceful afternoon walk.

Getting Around:

Scarborough is very easy to explore on foot, and from this location many of the town’s key attractions, beaches, shops and restaurants can be reached within minutes. Walking is often the most enjoyable way to get around, particularly in the Old Town and along the seafront.



Scarborough railway station is approximately a 15–20 minute walk or a short taxi ride away. From the station, there are direct train services to York, Leeds, Hull and connections onward to other major UK cities. Local bus services operate frequently and provide easy access to surrounding areas such as Whitby, Filey and the North York Moors.



For guests travelling by car, Scarborough is well connected via the A64. Public car parks are available nearby, including town-centre and seafront options, though availability can be busier during peak holiday periods. Taxis are readily available throughout the town, and local drivers are familiar with the Old Town area.



Cycling is also popular, particularly along the seafront and on routes leading into the North York Moors National Park. Boat trips, open-top buses and coastal walks offer enjoyable alternative ways to explore the area without needing a car.
