If you have older people staying this isn’t the place for you!

When we got there the toilet didn’t work, it was due to some repairs happening the day before. The bath tub was dirty also because of the repairs. I called to let them know, they sent someone to fix the toilet but didn’t offer to have the tub cleaned. It was wood chips and dirt all in it. The stairs are straight up and down and SLIPPERY!!!! The kitchen is semi stocked with dishes so bring things you may need. Definitely on the smaller side compared to the other listings in the area for the same price. Like I said it was OK. For 800.00 a weekend it’s a no for me.

Love the location

The location, living area and porch was wonderful for our group. The upstairs bathroom was disappointing. Upgrades are needed. The shower door would not stay closed and the space was too small. It could have used a better cleaning. The bedrooms, however, are spacious and very comfortable.

Beautiful view but property needs attention

Lovely views with some fun toys on the property, however home was not very clean. We arrived and the upstairs bathroom window was open. Bathroom doors were all funky and need maintenance. Master shower had weird spray out issue, could use maintenance. All linens including towels and bed linens were stinky musty smell as if not washed in awhile. Carpet in LR was dingy. Aside from these major issues, our family had a nice Thanksgiving weekend visiting wineries and downtown Dahlonega and Helen. The dining table was big which was nice. Kitchen drawers could use repair and updating. Property itself could use lots of TLC as it’s a nice spot but lacks maintenance. Maybe better lighting for the narrow driveway. Aside from this we had a fun family getaway for the holiday.

A lovely, cozy stay!

The property was great; we loved the location. It was an easy drive to Helen, where we enjoyed the downtown activities, including river tubing, and we drove out to Dahlonega and to Amicalola Falls. In the house, the hot tub was both easy to use and to close up for the day. There were plenty of beds for my family of four. The kids cozied up in the upstairs rooms and enjoyed the games in the basement. The cicadas were singing as soon as it went dark and they stopped by the time we woke up. We visited the vineyard down the road and we definitely recommend it to those who enjoy wine, as the wine was great and the woman who worked there was lovely and informative. Really, everything was great, which is why we rated it a 5 star! Our only "complaints" were that there were some wrappers behind a nightstand in one of the bedrooms and a dish or two that didn't seem quite clean. The rest of the cabin seemed very clean - bathrooms, bedrooms, floors. For us, the couple misses were not dealbreakers and were not enough to contact management or to give out a less than 5 star review. We would go back to Deer Haven or go to another Blue Creek Cabin in a heartbeat as the overall experience was great between the general cleanliness, the ease of check in and check out, the wonderful locations they choose, plus the amenities in the houses.

Good time

We had a great time overall. There were a few small details that weren’t perfect but that’s always true. The hot tub didn’t hold it’s temperature well when it was cold outside so once you took the cover off you had max an hour or so of use before the temp got too low to be comfortable. This was probably because it was cold at night but just something to note. It was very clean which is not always true. The cabin overall was very clean which was nice. My kids had a great time with the arcade machine and the ping pong table especially. The location was convenient but there isn’t much view if you are looking for that. One issue that is with the area was someone letting a dog wander around. It made our dog very nervous so if you are traveling with a dog something to keep in mind. There’s nothing the owners can really do about it (it might even have been stray) but it’s worth noting for anyone traveling with a pet. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Great get away cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our early family Christmas. They even had a Christmas tree. The ping pong table and hot too were a hit especially after a long day of hiking. I’d have given it a 5/5 stars if the internet had been fast enough to watch a Netflix movie all the way through without it trying to load. We’d definitely come back again. Stay at Deer Haven

Everything was great except for the upstairs space for the toilet, it made us feel cramped. I think a senior like myself could use a vertical bar to get up and down. Our stay was most enjoyed by all especially the fire pit. There was plenty of “hot “water.

Nestled on a Mountain

Property seemed clean, little tighter than expected as everything is spread out over 3 levels with main and upstairs being only sleeping areas. The stairs to the upstairs are quite steep and small steps. Convenient location. Driveway is single lane so was difficult with 3 vehicles. Not much yard for dogs.

Good weekend getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Deer Haven. The cabin was clean and well stocked. Check-in was a breeze as we were emailed the door code and could go straight to the cabin. The internet was in and out, but it also rained much of the weekend. It was a great weekend getaway.

North Ga Family getaway

Overall very comfortable and enjoyable property with just a few minor hiccups and inconveniences. No firewood delivered to be able to enjoy the fire pit, and some minor inconveniences regrading the upstairs bathroom. Also no ability to watch live tv due to complicated cable setup but still enjoyed viewing via apps, and all of the on-site activities. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend.

It was okay on the mountain

It was a nice location, but the property could have been cleaned better prior to our stay. There was dog hair and dog smell, the deck was covered with trig's and leaves, the gas grill wouldn't turn on, due to the tank knob would not turn. If there hadn't been any problems I would stay there again.

Great vacation getaway

Cabin Stay

I want to start by saying that the owners were very good at responding promptly every time i reached out. The cabin location was great, high up in the mountain. The view from the back porch was breathtaking. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay a day early due to issues with the hot water ( on a 30 degree weather) and not having internet. Also a the cabin was not very clean, the rugs on the living room and the main bedroom were full if dog hair, the bed sheets we had to wash from day one because there were stains on them. I really wanted to love the cabin, our stay in GA was overall great except the points i mentioned before.
