The Neighborhood:
Saundersfoot is one of Pembrokeshire’s most popular seaside villages, known for its relaxed coastal atmosphere, beautiful scenery and excellent food and entertainment options. Centred around a wide, sandy beach and a picturesque harbour, it’s a destination that appeals to couples, families and groups alike.
Food lovers are particularly well catered for in Saundersfoot. The village offers a wide range of cafés, pubs and restaurants, many with sea views and an emphasis on fresh, local produce. You’ll find everything from traditional fish and chips enjoyed on the harbour wall, to relaxed pubs serving hearty Welsh classics, and stylish restaurants offering seafood, steaks and contemporary dishes. There are also cosy coffee shops, bakeries and ice cream parlours dotted throughout the village, perfect for a leisurely breakfast or an afternoon treat after the beach.
For evening entertainment, Saundersfoot has a lively yet laid-back feel. Several pubs and bars host live music, quiz nights and seasonal events, especially during the summer months. The harbour area is a popular spot to enjoy a drink as the sun sets, while restaurants create a buzzing atmosphere well into the evening. Throughout the year, the village also hosts events such as New Year’s Day swims, food festivals and community celebrations.
Beyond food and nightlife, Saundersfoot offers plenty to do during the day. The beach is ideal for swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking, while the harbour provides boat trips and fishing excursions. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs directly through the village, offering spectacular walks with breathtaking sea views. With its mix of great dining, friendly entertainment and stunning coastal surroundings, Saundersfoot offers something for everyone, whatever the season.
Getting Around:

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs directly through the village, offering scenic routes towards Tenby in one direction and Wisemans Bridge and Amroth in the other. These coastal walks provide breathtaking views and easy access to neighbouring beaches and villages. The walk to Tenby is particularly popular, taking you along dramatic cliff paths before descending into the town.
Public transport links make getting around simple. Saundersfoot has its own railway station on the West Wales line, with regular services connecting to Tenby, Kilgetty, Whitland, Carmarthen and Swansea, making it easy to arrive by train or take day trips without a car. For those travelling by car, Saundersfoot is easily accessible via the A477, with good road links to the wider county. There are several car parks in and around the village, including long-stay options close to the beach and harbour. Having a car allows visitors to explore further afield, with attractions such as Folly Farm, Heatherton World of Activities, Carew Castle and Pembrokeshire’s many hidden coves and beaches all within a short drive.
Cycling is also a great option, with quiet country lanes and traffic-free paths nearby, including the Brunel Trail between Saundersfoot and Wisemans Bridge. Whether on foot, by train, bus, bike or car, Saundersfoot offers flexible and convenient ways to explore both the village itself and the wider Pembrokeshire coastline.
