Endroit magnifique, nous avons tout aimĂ©. La plage est tranquille, mais quand mĂȘme Ă  proximitĂ© de restaurants. Les couchers de soleil sont tous impressionnants et la belle terrasse de la maison nous permet d’en profiter pleinement.

Casa Luarca was the best vacation ever! The owner contacted us before our arrival and discussed everything we needed to know. The on site caretaker Brian, was helpful, courteous and welcoming. The grounds are well kept, the pool was always inviting, each bedroom is like a hotel unto itself! This property is a "must" for anyone interested in having the best vacation ever.

Casa Luarca was a great beach front location. Fun beach front restaraunts just an easy walk down the beach. The caretaker lives on the property and was very quick to respond to a couple questions we had. We had an issue with the airconditioning in one bedroom and he quickly arrived to check it out. The next day they were putting in a new unit. You can't ask for better service than that. We hope to visit again soon.

We enjoyed everything almost!! AC works was in all bedrooms this house has ooen air concept and is okder if you don’t mind some character and not super perfect cleanliness it is grest we soent most of our time outside and used the bedrooms st night. The smoke from burning in the neighborhood was the only issue for us otherwise we enjoyed the pool beach and food!!

Great location and good outside pool area and covered living space. Wonderful beach. Easy, helpful and pleasant pre arrival communication with Christian(owner) and Bryan who is onsite. Christian recommended a great boat tour operator who mocked us up on beach outside. All windows and insect nets, some rusty metal doors, all bedding in the house, 2 bathrooms (1 with mould on ceiling) and kitchen would benefit from some renewal and intense cleaning. Patches of roof need repair as many tiles broken and covered with plastic sheets -it didn’t rain while we were there. Some beds/sheets/lights/many windows had cobwebs and dead insects in/on. The large bunk room has a difficult locking system too so one adult slept with kids to be safe.The kitchen was not great and fridge needed a clean on arrival. BBQ unusable and the house lacked functioning WiFi. We raised WiFi with Bryan but nothing could be done it seems. Rest we felt he wouldn’t understand and we left Christian alone. But it was disappointing compared with similar price Vrbo places we rented elsewhere in Guanacaste.Important to state that the photos of the living/outside areas on Vrbo are a fair reflection of property. So some good, some less good bits to Casa Luarca. Can sleep lots which makes it a value option for big groups. We were 5.We spent the last two nights elsewhere and used the pool area as our beach club area.

Family vacation

The location cannot be beat. Loved having the house within steps of the beach. Able to walk to a few restaurants and a grocery store easily. Beautiful view from the downstairs and from the upstairs balcony. LOTS of space inside the house. Air conditioning was great in all bedrooms. Negatives would be - there was trouble with the pool filter for the first few days causing the water to be very cloudy. Also there is no hot tub as mentioned (we didn't miss it but don't expect one). Also did not see a smart tv in the house. We didn't care and wouldn't have used it anyway but in case you were wanting one it wasn't there that we saw. The houses caretaker was Bryan - he was wonderful. I wish we knew a little more spanish to make communicating easier. We used phone translator. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Perfect!

Perfect beach house! Right on the beach, beautiful pool and gardens. Very clean. Room for many people. Air conditioning in bedrooms worked very well, living areas didn’t need it as the ocean breeze came through the house. There are caretakers onsite, it helps to understand some Spanish to communicate with them. They were very friendly and helpful! The owner was extremely easy to communicate with. We didn’t have any problems while there. The beach town is quiet, not overcrowded at all. We easily walked down the beach path to restaurants every night. Our favorite was Roberto’s. My elderly mother was able to walk as well, the path is flat. There are some rocks here and there, but easy for an older person who can’t walk well. Amazing snorkeling at the ends of the beach by the rocks. We saw amazing animals everyday! Iguanas, dragon flies, fish of all kinds, jumping rays, monkeys. Also, the Costa Rican people are very warm and friendly. Don’t miss Tio Leo’s Coffee tour that is about 30 minute drive away. They do an amazing job, and we learned a lot about coffee, chocolate, sugar cane, and Guanacaste in general. Wonderful people there. We’ve been to a lot of beaches around the world, and this stay was the best ever!! Christian, Muchas gracias por compartir tu casa de playa familiar con nosotros!

Location, Location, Location!

Amazing property right on Playa Hermosa. Walk past the pool through the gate and on to the beach.Tons of space in the home, but the true value is the outdoor spaces(patio/lanai and pool) and the location. Communication was great and there is a little house on the front of the property where the property manager lives. He cares for the pool daily and was there if we needed anything. I can’t say enough good things about our stay here.

A wonderful house in Playa Hermosa

We had a great time at Casa Luarca. The house is right in the beach and has a wonderful pool. The kitchen has been updated and the master upstairs is lovely and the downstairs bedrooms are all comfy and have good AC. We did not need the teen style bunk room. The beach towels and pool float and sand toys were a welcome help. Bryan and Laura took wonderful care of the pool and looked after us —reminding us to lock up and put away any clothes and valuables so as not to encourage any petty theft which I guess is a problem in any beach community. We always felt safe and only had friendly interactions with the locals. Playa Hermosa is a family friendly beach town and convenient to Liberia airport and other nice towns along the northern Guanacaste coast. Thanks for a great stay!

Nice home. Good restaurants in walking distance

The house is comfortable. It was large enough for the nine of us. There are some minor quirks that deal with the location of electrical switches, but otherwise the house was nice, and it is a very short walk to the ocean and nearby restaurants.

Beautiful and relaxing!

What a wonderful time we had at this beautiful house! So convenient from the Liberia airport and while it is close to so much, it felt like our own private slice of heaven by the beach. Bryan and Laura were great, they are right there if you need anything but give you complete privacy. The house is pretty and quiet with plenty of room for this mom and two teens to spend time together and to spread out. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the bedroom air conditioners work very well. The outdoor spaces were our favorite - we spent so much time in the gorgeous pool and surrounding patios, mornings and evenings watching the ocean from the upstairs porch. Tropical birds and plants surround you in this house - and it felt like a special retreat. The location is great. We walked a short distance to two excellent restaurants, a small grocery store is five minutes from the house, and it was under an hour to Rincon de La Vieja (the whitewater tubing and canyon zip line!). We agreed we would love to come back to this house. It was such fun to see two teenagers put down their phones and chase lizards and crabs and float in the pool - special memories!

Casa Luarca was amazing

Our party of 9 had a great week-long stay. Christian was very receptive to any of our concerns and helpedwith booking the airport shuttle and tours. Laura and Bryan (caretakers) were very kind (even though we couldn’t speak Spanish) so we had some communication challenges but smiles and hugs are universal. The WhatsApp is a must. We used it to order pizza and contact others for tours etc. Highly recommend the Frank The Tank catamaran sunset tour.also. Pura Vida.

Great house on the beach!

We loved Christian's house on the beach. We visited with two families and it's many different rooms provided ample space for our two families, with both sets of parents getting their own rooms and the kids splitting up between the other rooms. The kitchen was well-stocked and great sized. We loved the outdoor living areas and used them all week, especially the great pool. It was so peaceful and felt very safe. Having the beach just outside our door was amazing. Laura and her husband were so sweet and took great care of the house and property while we were there. The bedrooms have AC, which was nice, and we never felt uncomfortably hot in the other areas of the home, especially since we spent so much time outside. There are great restaurants within walking distance on the beach, and for an even better treat try some of the more traditional places to eat just a few miles inland (our favorites were Carnes Asadas La Familia Parrillera and La Casona, both near Sardinal...very authentic!) Christian was a great host and very helpful, and even was able to help us get a private boat for a snorkeling/sightseeing excursion. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time in Playa Hermosa

This was a wonderful place for our family to stay. Our kids loved the pool and playing in the waves on the beach. It was amazing have a beach front location. It has a fun room to sit and watch the sunset and the ocean. Laura keeps the yard looking amazing and beautiful. Our kids loved searching for geckos at night. We saw some Iguanas and beautiful birds as well. We were there from Sunday night to Thursday morning and the beach was never crowded. The beach has beautiful soft sand and small waves that our family had fun playing in! We brought our own life jackets and snorkeling gear which we were glad to have. The kids had fun finding hermit crabs and shells. We got in late which made it a little tricky to find the beach house, luckily we downloaded a map before leaving the United States. This was our first trip out of country and we’re used to just using our phone to get us where we need to go. I’d recommend downloading an app that works offline. Laura was very kind and helpful and our kids had fun playing with her son. They only speak Spanish which may have been difficult if my husband didn’t know Spanish. The beach house felt very safe and had bars on the windows and doors that you locked when you leave. The hardest part what trying to figure out which key went to which lock. The kitchen had all the things we needed but we mostly ate out. I’d recommended eating at Aqua and watch the sunset. Other great places to eat where in walking distance from the beach.

Great location

The location was wonderful. There were restaurants and stores within walking distance. The beach was beautiful and only steps away. We enjoyed watching the birds and iguanas. The pool was lovely and we BBQd. My only complaint was it was extremely hot and the main part of the home was 90 degrees. I realize this is common in CR. There was however AC in the bedrooms. The home is older and rustic. It could use a deep clean. Overall we had a great time there.

Beautiful Paradise

The property is beautiful and well taken care of. The young ones loved to be in the pool by 7 and back and forth to the ocean all day. It was walking distance to restaurants and groceries and only 30 minutes to the airport. Playa Hermosa is a beautiful beach and certainly not as busy as others. The Boogie boarding was great for the kids. Even had howler monkeys next door! It is close to Coco which has more services. The caretakers are wonderful and take great care of the property Our grandkids loved playing with their son. There were tears when we left. We would definitely stay at Casa Luarca again. We miss the sound of the ocean putting us to sleep. Christian was very responsive and good to deal with. Thankyou for sharing your home!

Can’t beat the beachfront location and private outdoor area with huge pool and plenty of outdoor seating. We love Playa Hermosa for the soft silvery sand, gentle surf and jet skiing in the bays. We were pleasantly surprised that the kitchen had modern appliances. We did have issues with the clothes washer and could only get it to wash tiny loads on one setting after unplugging and replugging a few times. TV had to be requested. We liked the upstairs area except for the awful smell from the bathroom that required us to keep all the windows open. The property is surrounded by well kept mature landscaping and well shaded so never felt too warm. Air conditioning in bedrooms worked well. There are a lot of keys to different doors to the property—color coding would be helpful. The gate to enter and leave the property is manual so a bit inconvenient but the property managers were usually available to assist us. The property managers are very nice but communication with them was limited because they did not speak English and we do not speak Spanish. It would be helpful to get more information about the property in writing in English. Overall a lovely property that can accommodate a large family at an exceptional price.

Beautiful location, right on the beach

We spent 4 nights at this wonderful home. There is a beautiful outdoor area (patio & pool) and it is minutes from the ocean. Laura & Bryan live on the property and attend to your every need. They are fabulous! The layout of the house is fine, except for one of the bedrooms that you access by going outside the house (but just a few steps through the courtyard). It would be difficult to put just young children out there, but my husband & I loved it because it was like having our own private guesthouse. We could walk to markets & restaurants which was so nice. The ocean was warm and not crowded at all, even though we were there over Christmas. I would stay here again without hesitation!

Location is amazing!

We absolutely enjoyed our time at this home! The location is beautiful ! The grounds keepers Bryan and Laura were delightful to deal with! Our grandson had a great time playing with their son Jacob! I highly recommend this place, although the house itself is in need of some repairs and updating, is why I gave it 3 stars for cleanliness. We would stay here again! Thank you 😊

Slice of tropical paradise

Vaca with young kids so I wanted beachfront with pool and walking distance to restaurants and groceries plus not far from airport. (25 mins to Liberia) This checked all the boxes plus plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 kids. Owner helped with transportation for airport. Layout not exactly clear in pictures and one bedroom we didn’t have access to. Upstairs-porch area opens to king bedroom and leads to small walkthrough with a bunk bed, closets and then into master bath. (Doors to each area) great room for parents with small kids. Downstairs-den, kitchen, eating area, laundry, queen bed with bath, bunk room with 4 singles, and full bath in hall. There is another room in house with an outside entrance. (I think it has a full and twin bed with bath.) The only parts with AC are the bed/baths. No problem! The outside covered porch is wonderful and a great spot to eat or sit, hunt for the iguana in trees, and enjoy the views of exceptional gardens, pool, ocean, and folks walking on the path to restaurants. Rebecca and Jose (caretakers) with their kids were an important part of our enjoyment! Rebecca helped with grocery shopping, massages on property, our exceptional ocean excursion (whales, snorkeling, beach with caves and monkeys, ceviche caught and prepared on board), prepared my CR birthday dinner, bonfire and got us a mariachi band! Jose has the gardens and pool shine before you get your morning coffee. They are the BEST! Aqua Sport, Roberto’s, Mercado, and other restaurants are in walking distance for drinks, dinner, lunch, and breakfast. We had a rental car -drove to Playa Coco, Tamarindo, Ponderosa adventure park, Diamante Eco adventure park, and Parque Nacional Rincón. So you have options to check out beyond your casa. (we did all of this with a 1.5, 4 and 7 year old! But one area per day.)This area isn’t for night life, glitz, or luxury. It’s local, not high tourist crowds, and great place to experience PURA VIDA. If you need more lux the Four Seasons is close by. Relax and enjoy Costa Rica at this beautiful location!
