Up to 8 guests enjoy alpacas, fresh eggs daily, and five acres of bushland near beaches and walking trails. All facilities included for a memorable getaway. For 7–8 guests, a detached converted studio is also included with queen bed, lounge, fridge & tea/coffee facilities. Perfect for group or family getaways.

Southfork is a charming country retreat with a warm, cosy feel, offering three comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms, thoughtfully styled throughout. Guests enjoy complete privacy, with owners living away from the main residence. The property has a shared driveway, separate gate and fencing for privacy. Home to five alpacas and chickens, it’s ideal for animal lovers. Perfect for bushwalking, mountain biking, tennis, surfing or simply relaxing, with trails and outdoor activities nearby. Pets are welcome, so bring your furry family members. For larger groups, the house comfortably sleeps 6 guests, with space for up to 8 guests total when the detached studio is included. The studio is located approx. 10 metres from the main house and features a queen bed, lounge and tea/coffee facilities (no running water or toilet). Guests using the studio share the main house bathrooms.

Guests enjoy exclusive use of all on-site amenities, including the indoor heated pool, hot tub, gym, tennis/pickleball court, wood-fired pizza oven, and outdoor kitchen.

If you are looking to get away for some much needed rest and relaxation this is it! Explore the trails that surround the property and wander along the shores of Mortimer Bay. There are numerous surf beaches within 5-10 minutes drive.
Enjoy a soak in the hot tub or a swim in the year round heated pool - both are magnesium/mineral treated. Challenge your friends or family to a game of tennis or pickleball on our newly constructed professional grade hard court surface.

We are situated approximately 30 minutes from the CBD of Hobart and 20 minutes from Hobart Airport. Southfork is a rural property with limited public transport options and the nearest shop/supermarket is approx 6km`s away. It’s best to have your own vehicle to get around.

While we reside on the property, we are away from the main residence, ensuring you enjoy private access to Southfork and its resort-style amenities.

As we are located in a rural setting, guests may occasionally encounter wildlife such as possums or small rodents in or around the home. Despite regular pest control and cleaning, this is part of the natural environment.

House Rules – Gatherings & Events Policy

We welcome guests looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay. To ensure a comfortable experience for all, please follow the guidelines below:

Small Gatherings

• Small, low-key gatherings (e.g. family dinners or celebrations) may be permitted with prior approval.
• All visitors must depart by 10pm unless they are registered overnight guests.

Strictly No Parties

• Large parties, loud music, and disruptive events are strictly prohibited.
• Any unauthorised gathering causing excessive noise, complaints, or damage may result in immediate cancellation without refund.

Respect for Neighbours & Property

• Quiet hours are 10pm–7am.
• No outdoor music or loud activities after 10pm.
• Guests are responsible for any damage caused by themselves or their visitors.

Additional Approvals

• If you would like to host a small event (e.g. birthday dinner or children’s birthday party), please contact us prior to booking with details.
• Additional fees or cleaning charges may apply for approved gatherings.
